I'm curious to what level they view Melendez as a mistake. In my mind he is one of the very few non-champions to get a great contract and i'm sure that the UFC wishes they could have kept him for cheaper, but to keep him from improving another orgs talent i'm not sure its a full on loss.

I'd rather barely beat Jay Heiron two years into my fighting career than lose to Luciano Azevedo like Aldo did after a year of being a pro.

Askren beats Benson by split decision. No matter how hard people want to cling to a fight when he was still green or want to focus on the first 2 1/2 minutes of a 25 minute fight.
