Beneil Dariush is the most underrated fighter in Ufc history....

You were doubting Dariush's wrestling before this? really? Benny has always been considered one of the better wrestlers and grapplers in the division, and for a reason. Like I said though, you need to beat an eastern euro around here in order for your grappling to be respected I guess.

Dariush’s background is BJJ not wrestling. Prior to Gamrot, he had only faced strikers and other BJJ guys. It’s not about beating an Eastern European, he hadn’t fought any wrestlers period.

BJJ guys can develop good wrestling like RDA, Maia, and Burns did but it’s usually not enough when they face an actual wrestler which is why it was important to see him finally get tested. Like I said, he earned my respect after that performance.

I always liked him. Give the man a title shot or at the very least have him fight
Charles for a title eliminator.

He's not underrated. Maybe undervalued. But people know how good he is I think. He just needs to speak up for himself and demand a shot. He does it, people start discussing it and it gathers momentum. If he doesn't, someone will. As they have.

He had another post fight interview where he went on some long bizzare rant about marxist regimes. Didnt even want to discuss the fight just wanted to talk and Jesus and Marxist regimes. LOL I like the guy he's a character and comes to fight everytime.

All you need to do to get respect with sherdog apparently is beat an eastern euro wrestler. My god, the amount of people who flip flop on benny is amazing. I'm not targeting you TS. I'm just saying what I've noticed in general.
I am not feeling targeted. I just said he has some weird post fight interviews lol<Moves>

Sorry but Islam isn’t gonna shoot wildly from a distance like Gamrot. Islam will dominate Benny.

Don't care for all the Jesus talk, but I'll be damned if he isn't a great fighter and overall decent dude.

Pretty simple, he shouldn't complain about being disrespected and not getting a TS if he isn't willing to do the very basics to promote himself and stake his claim.
I thought he steaked his claim just fine with the incredible performance he put on against such a high-level opponent, really that should be enough and would be in pretty much any other sport.

I don’t even have a problem with Volk getting the first shot, but Benial should either be getting the shot right after, or at the very least headlining a card in a clear title elimination match against a high-profile opponent.

He is Great. But Barbosa who all top 5 fighters beat him like a drum stick, KOd him into another dimension. Once you been send to another dimension by an gate keeper you lose the magic about you

Yeah! Fighters never get better. Even on an 8 fight win streak.

He definitely got much better. But still doesn’t change the fact. Islam got Kod also yet his big bro khabib never even got dropped or ever in trouble. Islam might go and have a better resume but still will never be greater than khabib. preception matters and facts can not be undone

He is up there for sure as far as underrated fighters go. I also think Magny is underrated. Dariush has an impressive resume for sure. The main reason why he probably is still fighting for a title and not as well known is because he has slipped on a couple banana peels in his career.

‘Alexander the Great’ gets privilege over ‘Darius the Great’.

I wonder if Dariush has the same name as the historical Persian ruler Darius of the Achaemenid Empire.

Anyone from that region that can tell if Dariush is the same name as the Persian name Darius and former ruler in 500 bce?
I asked my Iranian friend and he said it’s the same. Dariush is how Iranians pronounce Darius. Alexander getting privilege over Darius would have made sense if Beneil was Persian. Lol.

No, it's not enough to just win, the UFC isn't the Olympics where merit is the only thing that matters. Its a fight promotion. Emphasis on PROMOTION. The sooner Beneil realizes this the closer he'll be to a title shot.

Yeah, funny how you forget these anglicized names aren't what the locals called them. I went to school with an iranian kid named Sirous, and i didn't realize for years it's the persian for Cyrus, as in Cyrus the great.

That’s because of the bible. All these names have been transliterated into Greek after Alexander the Great took over a large part of the Middle East.
That became the lingua franca after Alexander the Great.
The Old Testament was also translated into Greek after the second century.
All the Persian and Semitic names are all transliterated into Greek including Cyrus.

The west worships the Greek and Roman Empire in history. They try to link theirselves with these ‘European’ empires to claim everything for theirselves.
The result is transliteration of the Greek transliteration of Persian and Semitic names instead of going back to the original language and name for transliteration.

I might get hate but I agree. Not to mention the T/KO losses to Alex Hernandez and Ramsey Nijem.

he’s been fighting his ass off lately and entertainingly too. But those losses are hard to forget.
