Elections Ben Shapiro Jumps off the Trump Train...

Shapiro isn't anything. He is a huckster that reflects whatever group he can make money on. Ben is too smart to have such logically weak positions and be compelled to constantly lie and make up facts. To say he is something would mean what he does isn't deliberate and that he isn't aware of what he is doing.
While I have a FAR from idealized view of Shapiro, I disagree with the notion that he is not ideologically driven. He has STRONG religious and right-wing views. Which he is absolutely convinced of. He's never going to become an atheist or a liberal/leftist or pretend to have those views. Your view of him is much more in line with someone like Dave Rubin.

This.
Shapiro is a true conservative, which is why he’s never been a big fan of Trump but can’t help but give him props for the things he feels were a good play.

If his views were so authentic, he wouldn't have such half baked reasonings for his beliefs. It is like in the movie '40 year old virgin' when the guy says that breast feel like sand bags and at that moment everyone realizes he is a virgin.

Huh? Trump supporters can’t afford to stay in his hotels? Do you actually pay attention to things or do you just watch CNN and form your opinions from there.?

I don’t know what world you live in , but when we hit the water every weekend, just about every boat has a Trump flag on it. (All people with lots of expendable income) On a drag race forum I moderate which has over 100,000 members, all whom own toys that cost most than most people’s houses (all paid for, no financing race cars) the “who are you voting for” poll was 96%-4% in favor of Trump (up a percent from 2016)
While what is it.. (I don’t have the actual data in front of me) something like 90% of welfare leaches vote Democrat?

That being said, I agree with you that he might not want to win re-election. (Why would he?!?)

It definitely doesn’t seem that way. Even with every possible political wind blowing against him, this should still be a walk away KO victory against a doofus like Biden. Biden and Harris are fucking terrible. Literally no one likes them, they just hate Trump.

Trump either has got something else up his sleeve... or he wants out, and in true 10/10 narcissistic fashion, wants his exit from the big stage to be in the history books.

They can’t afford his hotels......well, neither can his investors but you get the point.

P.S - they’ll make a good shield if the IRS, or whoever, press criminal charges against him for tax evasion and / or whatever scams he’s run or has in the works.

There's no such thing as the "Democrat Party" any more than there's such a thing as the "Republic Party". With all due respect, when you refer to the nonexistent Democrat Party, you just look like a partisan hack and someone who isn't very sophisticated or intelligent.

Really? That is your gripe? I highly doubt anyone is going to be confused about who I was referring to because I wrote democrat instead of democratic party. Anyway...my main point was that Shapiro was never on the Trump train. He has never liked Trump, has been very vocal about not liking him, but preferred him as President over anyone from the left. I'd prefer to see Pence as president, but I'll take a buffoon like Trump over anyone on the scumbag Left.

I appreciate where you're coming from. However, I believe Ben prioritizes his religion, his economic and social conservativism, his Zionist beliefs. And Trump serves those interests much more than Yang. You have a more idealized view of Shapiro than I do. Which is fine. I viewed him more favorably 3-5 years ago than I do now.

I guess you could be right. I don't follow Shapiro much actually. My views of him are limited to the popular youtube videos of him publicly shutting down SJWs, and parts of his discussion with Yang, which gives me a positive impression of him being very fact based and open to sensible opposing views.

He's been a public pundit from a pretty young age. I've been familiar with him for about 10 years. He's been pretty consistent ideologically. He's tweaked some talking points to account for societal mores and media changing somewhat. He went from the cable era to the YouTube era and social media era.

He's an Orthodox Jew with deeply held beliefs in that regard and a strong sense of ethnic identity. He feels his interests and his people's interests are best served by the right, specifically the more familiar neoconservative/social conservative consensus that predominated on the right before the more nationalist-populist wing spearheaded by Trump took over. But he's firmly aligned with the right and I don't envision him not being so, unless the right somehow becomes completely taken over by alt-right/white nationalist types.

I wonder what Ben Shapiro thinks of Stephen Miller, a Jew who is clearly a fascist white nationalist. I wonder if their times in Breitbart overlapped.

It's not that it's confusing, it just makes you look like a partisan hack or someone who lacks sophistication and intelligence. It's a cheap, shallow way of disparaging the other side. The only people who use it are hyper partisan right wingers or people who lack the sophistication to realize that it's incorrect.

Anyway, I've seen Shapiro get HYPE AF over some of Trump's moves. He liked the tax cuts. He LOVED moving the American embassy to Jerusalem. I think Ben would have been more supportive of Trump as a candidate if he saw that one coming. HUGE amount of symbolic meaning in that one for ardent Zionists like him. I think Ben is starting to smell a loser and is virtue signaling to other mainstream conservatives that he's one of them and NOT a Trump Republican.

Both Yang and Shapiro are "facts over feelings" guys, while Trump tries to manipulate the emotions of his supporters. I believe Shapiro recognises that Yang is genuinely trying to solve problems even if they don't agree on the solutions.

Between Yang and Trump, if either one of them fucks something up, Yang would be the one to admit it and try to do things differently to solve the fuck-up, while Trump would snowball the problem because he'll never admit he fucked up in the first place. For a facts guys like Shapiro, I think that's the kind of president he'd prefer.

But that's, like, just my opinion.

It's pretty crazy that Shapiro has some claim over this "facts over feelings" line. When your world view is framed by religion, you don't get to live by that mantra.
It's always been a silly phrase anyways that doesn't really reflect the world that we live in. We don't live our lives , or are solely motivated by statistics, and many of our policies and laws ARE derived from our feelings. Rarely are any of the issues that we discuss in politics black and white, and there are often multiple facts, and those facts can contradict each other. Shapiro likes to cherry pick his facts, and ignore others.
People like Shapiro and Tucker are doing what Trump is doing, just on a much more sophisticated level.
He fearmongers and stirs up people's emotions, but he just does it while wearing a yarmulke and using bigger words.
He only cares about the facts that support his position.

You were saying.................

While Miller had some influence over Breitbart and was once close with Steve Bannon, he was never an actual Breitbart employee, unlike Shapiro. But yes, Miller was in frequent communication with Breitbart employees at the time when Shapiro still worked there, but apparently not with Shapiro himself, but rather with employees who shared his worldview like Katie McHugh, who has admitted that she was a white nationalist while working at Breitbart and that Miller is also.

I don't generally like Trump but I dislike the fakes as much, if not more. People who recognized the issues with this President but enabled him and refused to do something about it until now. Now that they think he won't win, they want to pretend that they've got high-minded principles again.

Trump exposed an intellectual rot inside the party. At least his diehard supporters have never pretended to principles that they had to twist themselves into pretzels to hold into. And they're not shifting their principles like rats escaping a sinking ship. They're showing more integrity than the "voices" of the party.

Shapiro's tweets are rather consistent with what I have been saying. He supports Trump because he was the best candidate to defeat the scummy Democrats. I believe he said on numerous occasions he supported a Ted Cruz presidency.
You said he was never on the trump train......

You said he was never on the trump train......

Shapiro never has been on the Trump train. He supported him because he is anti-left, but he has never been a big fan of Trump. On many occasions Shapiro has called Trump a bully and criticized him for damaging the political conservatism. Shapiro has also been the target of some nasty comments and verbal abuse from Trump fanboys.

You're right. He was just kissing Trump's ass for the same reasons all you guys do, and thought he should be the leader of the free world since 2011.

Totally not on the Trump train at any time!!!
