Elections Ben Shapiro Jumps off the Trump Train...

Well, Trump is blowing it. He has literally done everything he can since Covid started to hand this election over. The amount blatantly retarded things hes done in that time frame almost makes you wonder if he actually wants to win.
 
I don't understand. Shapiro has always been critical of Trump ever since his administration started.

Agreed, but this is definitely the early stage of Shapiro distancing himself from Trump (again). He wants to be firmly in the establishment when the establishment inevitably divorces itself from Trump after he loses.

Shapiro has been largely supportive of Trump throughout his presidency, including quite recently. It's true that Shapiro was anti-Trump in the primaries and perhaps early on in his presidency. But he LOVED the pro-Israel/Zionist/Netanyahu stuff and the tax cuts.
 
Shapiro kinda does a weekly review pointing out the good and bad of Trump and how Trump gets in his own way.

Shapiro likes the tax cuts, the aggressive pro-Israel moves, the pro life positions and the pro-America rhetoric. Doesnt like the tweeting and the lack of tact, and reverse-courses that Trump engages in.

This isnt that outside the norm, pointing out has only himself to blame and is self destructive.

He is pretty big on Pence, far more than Trump.

I don’t know anybody switching from trump to Biden. The polls are being used like last time, only this time in conjunction with crazy voting methods. They are taking it from us.

That is an absolutely horrendous opinion piece. I just can’t stand these hyper partisan pundits who exaggerate the weaknesses of “the other guy” and understate the weaknesses of “their guy” while pretending to be critical of their party. I can’t stand hacks, but at least I respect on some level they own their shit. The guys who hate trump but grift are the worst, but another topic.

The piece argues that Trump is making a big strategic error - that he’s not focusing on Joe’s weaknesses but instead trying to promote himself. You have to be brain dead stupid and living in a cave to believe that explains the big gap. Ben is not either, he knows what kind of reader/listener is paying the bills and they won’t tolerate real criticism of Trump. So he’s playing this game and I really wish this guy would fade into irrelevance but I guess his game is good enough to continue to grab more exposure.
