Ben Askren takedown video/Highlights

BJJ Black Belt, Olympian (worst than Cormier, by the way)... "from a folk/freestyle perspective"... Fila no gi champ...
MAN, HE IS A REAL FIGHTER HUH?! VERY GOOD. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Black Belt I laughed hard.

Askren is "nuttin", totally nobody. Let's wait when he gets the real top contenders, complete fighters, and lose badly. Did nothing until now, only teared chickens in subevents and nothing more.
I take it English is not your first language?

his shots are near flawless ,especially his upper body takedowns

I disagree. They’re slow and from a mile away. No one in the top five of the UFC welterweights will be afraid of him. And a big portion of them have more experience than him. I really see him getting caught if he doesn’t change anything, as much as I’d like to see him do well.

His entries are not perfect, but his finishes are almost flawless. Wouldn't surprise me if he has a hard time getting in deep on some top fighters with good TDD, but if he does - they're fucked.

Yeah, I found that a lot of the studies on youtube of him just focus on his ground work, not how he gets there. That’s where his weakness is. And I think there are a lot of lesser wrestlers who have better methods of closing the gap compared to his really frantic, obvious ones. GSP probably being the best example.

I agree. I think it goes back to his wrestling career: that 'funky' style of scrambling and chaining takedowns together isn't optimal for MMA. But he did it as such a high level that he's able to force his opponents into wrestling and make them look silly anyway. He is going to have his hands full against explosive fighters that are good at disengaging completely and throwing hard strikes.

Shut up you fat faced pimpled bitch keyboard cuck

Maybe because is an american sport... No news here. Put knees on four and soccer kicks and we see if wrestlers will do good.
You do know Askren fought in One where knees on the ground and soccer kicks were allowed, right?

Askren is a very good wrestler, but I think his biggest weakness is that he won't be able to effectively set up his takedowns with striking against guys with really solid TDD. People compare Askren to Khabib, but Khabib knows very well that even though his striking is far from the best in the division, it can be used as a very effective pressure tool and for setting up takedowns. Askren, on the other hand, just spams takedowns from half across the cage, because his striking is so bad, he doesn't really use it for any purpose. Sure, spamming takedowns with no set up worked on cans in the past, but I doubt he's going to have a long winning streak with such tactics in the UFC.

Tearing chickens, serious? I want to see it in UFC... He would be beaten badly.
You said, and I quote, "Put knees on four and soccer kicks and we see if wrestlers will do good." And I countered that statement by saying Askren's fought in ONE where knees to a grounded opponent and soccer kicks are allowed. Now you're trying to deflect by saying he's only fought chickens, even though he has dominant wins over Lima and Koreshkov. Let me guess: They're not "UFC-calibur" because they fight in Bellator?

Not bad, but not better than this :

Difference is GSP don't receive any strike at all !

Lima and Koreshkov = Bellator = rules banned. Don't tergiversate. UFC is another level. Allow these in UFC and wrestlers will end for sure. But to kick Askren's ass we don't need this, just pick a complete contender and he will lose very easy. Wait and see.

Allow headbutts and you will see wrestlers smashing their upper craniums repeatedly into their opponents faces/noses from top position Mark Coleman style. It works both ways buddy.
