Having wrestled for years myself there are levels to it and he is truly at the highest. You basically have no chance of not going down, it doesn’t look pretty or even like he is doing much at all, but trust me to the trained eye he is God level wrestler.

Ya it’s insane to watch. Even if you stop the first attempt, you’re not stopping the chains he starts putting together depending on how you defend. He pretty much has a counter to every way you defend and that saps your energy right out of you when you put everything into stopping the td, think you stopped it, and still end up on your back.

And? Just because someone is good at a style doesn’t mean they are a master of all styles. Sapos Judo throws were damn good, perhaps Ben isn’t as savvy at judo tosses. Nevertheless even with that he remained calm and collected, constantly pressuring and eventually got his own takedown.

I'm not going to overblow the Sapo "fight" like the haters but I have found it interesting that Askren's opponents that have fair the best at defending him have been Sapo and Heiron. Seems like there is a small issue with Judo guys. Lombard fight would be/would have been interesting as a result.

Not to mention he already ate a clean Koreshkov knee to the face once and smiled right after after and finished the takedown. Its the only shot in his career that has tested his chin and he Ace'd it.
