Ben Askren On Burkman's UFC Deal

Suck Dana's balls? No its just being professional and not lambasting your future employer every chance you get. I like Askren but his thing of always speaking his mind is going to bite him in the butt.

Well, Dana is the one that claims that he can work with anyone (hating Tito etc).

If three organizations in North America don't want him, what's that say about his value or perceived value? WSOF offered him a low ball deal, the UFC didn't want him and Bellator openly let him shop the market.

I still think Ben could do more to prove himself. Fighting unknowns in Asia isn't doing anything for his value. His mouth is doing even less for his value, and this "sad, woe is me" bullshit he's pulling is really annoying.

If Askren would have went to WSOF and won a fight or two he would probably be in the UFC too. Talking shit about the guy he wants to employ him doesn't help either.

If he did to Paul Harris what he did to Suzuki Dana would give him a contract no matter how much dumb sh*t he was saying.

Askren deserves to be in the UFC but people should remember how Bellator immediatly got rid of him while the Alvarez situation was a long mess. I think people overestimate the importance of Dana's ego, he doesn't have power over the Fertitas. Josh Barnett talked a lot worst trash than Askren and has the worst history of PED in MMA's history and he was still welcomed back. IMO the issue is more about money than ego.

You blame him for getting told to go to WSOF when he's a regional champion, undefeated record with a great wrestling background? They let complete rejects into the UFC and Ben can't get a deal? I don't blame him for talking shit and not wanting to fight for pennies.

Ben's mouth is to blame. Initially demanding a title shot, wanting money, and then recently when Dana said somewhat positive things Ben mouths off again.
