Bellators title fight tonight was completely rigged

One of the most unsatisfying experiences of watching MMA I've ever had, specially considering I had no emotional investment on the fight whatsoever.

Sums up exactly how I feel.
I didn't even know the fight was on tonight, just flipping through the channels and found it.

The fight itself didn't even bother me too much. Although I understand the fighters need to engage I could understand Carvahlo being conservative to avoid the power of Melvin. But like you said, the was legitimately 0 action. Between the illegal shots and inactivity Carvahlo could've been dropped at least a point or 2.

And then the judging at the end was repugnant. Melvin deserved the win for sure.

The judging has nothing to do with what company it is in only the commission overseeing the event. If there was a point deduction then it would have been a draw and Carvalho still keeps the belt. A rematch should be in order but even then Manhoef was cheated out of his rightful win.

I think he should've lost more than a point, he had 2 eyepokes and 2 groin strikes. he also threw an intentional illegal strike(the elbow after big john told him to stop that some in the pbp thread thought rocked melvin). The fact that a point was taken in an earlier fight makes it worse.
I agree with your point about the commission but, i think bellator made some big deal tonight about being the ones to bring a huge mma event to idaho. perhaps their athletic commission and standards are the reason why the UFC hasn't.

Nah. You market Melvin as the exciting KO guy, not the champ. His glass jaw makes him a liability in every fight; the chances of him being a long-reigning champ is near nil due to it. You'd be crazy to invest money in him as champ. Carvalho, at least before tonight, looked like a guy that could be champ for a while.

Not saying I believe it was rigged but if you were going to rig it, it wouldn't be in the favor of the guy who almost never goes to decision (which is a requirement if you're going to rely on corrupt judges) and gets KOed a lot.

As someone already mentioned, it didn't necessarily have to be rigged by Bellator itself. Gamblers would be more likely. Probably just another case of completely unqualified judges, its amazing how often they get things wrong.

Did the judges give the guy those rounds cuz he took Manhoef down a couple of times, cuz he didn't do that enough to win him 3 rounds and he didn't do anything with it. I scored it 50-45 for Manhoef. What awful judging. I've never been more upset about the outcome of I fight I didn't care about.

Awful all around. First round with zero action. Carvalho seemed disinterested about 2 rounds in. Big John mean mugging instead of reffing. Manhoef was tentative, but pressed the action, landed vicious leg kicks, deserved to win. Hopefully no rematch - I'm not watching this sh5t rerun.

Carvalho the champ didnt do a thing besides get warned for illegal techniques FIVE times without a point. He made no attempt to fight it was as if he was trying to get fired.

The judges scored the win for him as a split decision. I will never complain about ufc judging again.

The people that judge UFC are the same people that judge Bellator. It's the athletic commissions not the organizations. But yes, I thought it was the biggest robbery since Bradley/Pac 1.
