News Bellator, PFL Distance Themselves From Signing Yoel Romero

Ariel in full shill mode. "Bellator doesn't want UFC's castoffs." Meanwhile 3 of their champions (and until just recently, a double champ) are all UFC castoffs.

Look at how the media is trying to manipulate fighters' value now.

It may have worked with Anderson getting blackballed, but not with Yoel.

Bader, Mousasi and Cyborg were not castoffs, they finished their contracts and left.

Why would Ariel be on Dana’s side after Dana tried to end his career?

Lol, it's just negotiating. Everyone is strapped for cash with all the expenses and cancellations related to Covid, plus no crowds. Ole Coker just doesn't want to pay 400-500k for Romero, if he was willing to sign for 100-200k he'd sign him tomorrow. It's all posturing to drive the asking price down.

This is insane. You’ll sign Corey Anderson but not YOEL ROMERO

Scott Coker is an idiot

Romero is 43 years old having gone 1-4 in his last 5.

Anderson is 31 years old and is 5-1 in has last 6. He also has a win over Teixera, a guy who will be fighting for the belt very very soon.

See the difference?

Wtf is wrong these guys? Yea lets sign the Frank Mirs, Ken Shamrocks and Melvin Manhoefs of the world but no, not Anderson Silva or Yoel Romero they are below our standards.
Silva and Romero aren’t the same in fight years. Silva doesn’t belong in the same sentence as Romero in terms of being a legitimate talent at 185 but you know that I’m sure

I know but I still think he's good enough to be in bellator. He could probably have a close fight with Machida, probably even beat guys like Fedor or Rampage at heavyweight. Those guys are more shot than Silva is

It's not about Dana, it's about ESPN, and if he wants to keep his high-profile job he has to be a shill for the UFC while they have a contract with ESPN.

He can see what he's doing - make it sound like he's surprised that these other promotions aren't interested - all the while publicly driving down Romero's value by saying Bellator "doesn't want old UFC cast-offs." He's on UFC's payroll.

The ufc reaching their oversized novelty tentacles everywhere to try to take away a former fighters living away.

If Bellator dont sign him Coker is fucking crazy. The guys losses are via close, arguably contentious decisions over top 3 UFC level MWs ffs. Romero/Mousasi would be legit.

That, or he is lowballing to get a better (for them) deal, Romero made headlines getting cut from the UFC, Anderson was probably let go and no one noticed.

If you add some context, a more reasonable way to describe it is "Yoel has dropped a few competitive, controversial decisions against the literal best fighters in his division." He's still clearly a top 5 middleweight and had pick-em decisions with the best guys in the world right now.

Corey Anderson has a heart condition and gets spectacularly knocked out every 3 or 4 fights. If you want a reference to compare with Yoel fighting the #1 guy, Corey is the one getting casually knocked out in the first round.

Yoel is head and shoulders a better fighter and of higher quality. Can you imagine the equivalents of an OSP or Manuwa in the middleweight division knocking out Yoel? No, you can't.

Coker signs Yoel: "Lol at Bellator signing UFC's releases"
Coker doesn't sign Yoel: "Lol at Bellator not signing UFC's releases"

Coker bless. Bellator > UFC.
