Bellator has to do something about their vacant Middleweight Championship.

According to Jason Floyd Barncat only has one more fight on his deal so dont know how it works if he doesnt sign a new deal and they give him a title fight and he wins it what then?

Can he leave? Does he get trapped in a champ clause? Does Barncat refuse the fight if he gets trapped in a champ clause cause he wants to be a free agent?

My guess is since he's not a big name and he was out for years and came back in Bellator he signs a new deal and fights for the title vs Halsey.

Thats what should happen but who knows what the holdup is. Maybe they add it to a Dec card with HW title.

MW and HW need to be figured out, Bellator not doing anything about HW title after 18 months when the champ just fought in Russia and is taking another fight makes Bellator look like a joke.

He's taking another outside fight? Just strip him already and have Kongo fight Johnson for it!

Since Beltran already has a fight have Halsey fight Mccory for it.

If Halsey is really going up to 205, Beltran has a good shot at winning the MW title. Which honestly wouldn't really be a bad thing for Bellator to have people know their champion.

What exactly CAN they do with their weakest division?

Halsey will fight Rafael Carvalho for the vacant title IMO which isn't a bad fight at all. Then he'll rematch Kendall Grove, probably fight Ben Reiter, then Doug Marshall after Doug Ko's some scrub.

Bellator's MW division is such garbage they should honestly just scrap it at this point.

Hope Marshall gets back in the mix... We all know Bellator doesnt have the deepest roster but man they have entertaining fights.

Halsey (possibly to LHW)
Schlemenko susPended
Tamdan to UFC

Winner of Beltran v Grove should get Carvalho for the belt. Put it on a tentpole to get energy in the division.

This.

Barncat absconded to UFC, so there goes that. Lima should just move up to MW.

So what? UFC has "interim" belts happen all the time and no one cares, but when Bellator has a title vacant fr a month everyone loses their minds???

Coker knows what he's doing and when the time is right, he'll make a fight for the title. Try not to bust a blood vessel before then.

What are you talking about? The interim title means the Ufc is doing something about a champ not fighting. Ts complaint is Bellator lack of response to Halsey being stripped.

A major MMA promotion doesn't just "scrap" a weight class that they've had for a long time just because the champ got stripped of his title and the roster is a bit thin. That makes no business sense at all. They'll soon enough sign some veterans and prospects in that division and have a tournament or a fight between the best two fighters available for the vacant belt.

It's not as bad as people are making it seem. The inactivity of MW after Halsey was stripped, plus the loss of Barncat makes things look bleak. They have some young guys in Ben Reiter and Emiliano Sordi. I see Ray Sloan eventually dropping down too, based on the fact he's constantly weighed in below the LHW limit.

Such shitty management. Usually with these things the promotion comes out with a plan that night or in the subsequent days. LOL it's been months and one of the most major division doesn't have a champ or title fights or title contender fights lined up. Maybe Coker is doing some hard negotiations with Kimbo or some TNA wrestler at the moment that has them distracted from that minor whole division at a stand still and almost in shambles thing.

Poor management in caring about douche bro Ward so much and putting him on main cards while one of their best and most exciting MW's who KO'd him was ignored and put on prelims. The reason he stated for leaving was the crappy management philosophy.

I'm sure will hear some huge Coker MW news soon. Like they signed Luke Barnatt to fight in a title eliminator or they signed mid 2000's UFC mainstay Terry Martin for thier revamped MW division.

The state of the division is very bleak. But it's never going to be a major division for them, there just aren't enough guys at the weight to spread around. Sordi and Reiter aren't guys you'll build a division around.

You have some fun strikers in the division, honestly if Halsey comes back he's champion for as long as he wants to be. If not though you can do Beltran/Grove winner versus Carvalho or Reiter. Any combo of Manhoef, Marshall, Rogers, Kato would be fun.

I think Halsey leaving wouldn't be the worst thing. If he stays he's wrestling and subbing every striker you got. If he goes though you may not have any big talent guys but you'd have a division of bangers. The 185 title could be used to boost up other bigger shows.

True, it will never really be "stacked". Something has to give by now though, they need to start signing guys and getting the ones they have fights soon.

have Honeycutt move up to 185 and hand him the belt.

Problem solved
