Rumored Bellator Dissolving Imminent - Some Fighters Heading to UFC

I never understood how Coker kept the job so long. Bellator has been floundering for years. They should have bailed on the dumb tournament format. No one cares.

Punishment should fit the crime. Spreading fake news should be punished as follows: the offender has to serve for a month as an assistant moderator in theWarRoom, to maintain peace / harmony / understanding in the Jordan Peterson vs Andrew Tate debates.

But seriously, if Bellator does fold, I hope it's PFL who absorbs them and not UFC. Competition is better for the sport than a monopoly. If UFC did absorb Bellator, we wouldn't get MVP vs Wonderboy - we would get MVP vs 3 wrestlers in a row because Pink Goof has a grudge; we wouldn't get Amosov vs Leon to unify the belts - Leon would still fight Colby (or Usman for the 8th time) while Amosov would be buried on the prelims of a Holly Holm card from the Apex.

1. MVP vs Belal
2. MVP vs Sean Brady
3. MVP vs some Dagestani blanket they're trying to push

With the decline in prospects coming up this would be pretty huge for MMA to consolidate the elite talent some more. I don’t want the UFC to have a monopoly but at the same time I don’t want to see guys like Pitbull and Nemkov waste all of their primes fighting lower ended elite fighters either.

bring on the purge !

If true, it will be a bad day for UFC... who needs "paper legit" organizations to compete with them.

A decade or so ago, they even gifted Bellator with several of their top guyz... which imo were sacrifices to boost Bellator up to the point they could be considered a "valid competition."

That said... Bellator is owned by a "Cable Network" who makes money elsewhere... who supported Bellator for at least a decade before it started making money.

Bellator has recently actually made profits, so it's a strange thing to think that the company that held them up for so long without a profit, would now backtrack & drop them.

Perhaps the cable company that owned Bellator, finally drew even on their investment & so are now dropping them, but even if that's so... another company could pick them up.

I'm just throwing the past up there, but if it's done, then obviously the UFC will seek to buy them out of at least teh top talent.

What's funny is that PFL is making the same mistakes with the tournament format. How long before they end up ditching that and their "superfight" division, aka normal fights, becomes the norm. PFL seems to be going down the same road as Bellator.

Right on. And instead of making Gane-Kongo for the next Paris card, we get Gane-Tuivasa 2 for the Undisputed Interim Assistant To The Regional Mothafaka Belt, and Kongo-Blagoi Ivanov from the Apex!

Hmmm that's weird, he looked fine afterwards, when a cage full of legends paid their respects.

Er, congratulations on HW Juggernaut Ryan Bader's easiest fight.
Here Chuck Lidell, have a six 12 pack to stand here.
Hey it's Dan Henderson, the MW who knocked out Frodo.
Oh hello cool beard Josh Barnett, you're one of the few guys here who didn't plaster the "legend".

That's a better flair for you. Show us on the rape doll where the goat hurt you, squirt.

I'll always be for more orgs and competition in mma but bellator constantly fumbled and were never able to gain leverage over the ufc.

Not sure why but I never was super into Bellator. I loved Strikeforce and like One but something about Bellator I'd alway check it out after the fact.

Strikeforce takeover 2.0. Can't wait
Strikeforce gave the UFC so many champions and so many exciting fights. Great comparison. Although I dont see too many Bellator fighters becoming UFC champs in the near future.

Hard to compete in an industry dominated by the UFC.

I wouldn't be surprised if the PFL headed that route soon as well.

ESPN let the exlcusive negotiating window with PFL lapse so right now the PFL doesnt have a TV deal for 2024 and beyond and this is the first year PFL has not been able to raise capital.

If PFL fails to get a good TV Deal and if they fail to raise capital in the next 12 to 18 months they are dead.

Would be something if PFL goes under before Big Frank can do anything with them
