RIP Bellator it was a great run.
I’m going to miss Bellator but I’m okay with it being gone now. It was just too far gone from its better days to salvage.According Ariel today, Bellator name is now officially gone. Moving forward it will PFL Championship series. There will only be PFL champs, how they will be crowned, who knows. I'm guessing like Usman vs Hughes the winner will just become the PFL champ. Also the tournament point system and season stuff is all gone.
"I was unmonetized on YouTube." He said
Sports on Max is such a stupid name. Max is dumb as well. Hey let's get rid of the world-famous HBO name and replace it with the one we used for the soft porn channel in the 90s!
Will the event this weekend still be on Max?There seems to be no more Bellator content on the B/R Sports page and Google links no longer lead to pages on Bellator content. Also, we never got the Bellator library that we were promised by a certain PFL spokesperson. The Road to Dubai thing doesn't seem to be getting advertised for Max either.
May have something to do with underwhelming event performance and Max wasn't willing to pay for more events and this resulted in the final three events of 2024 being canceled. Just speculation on my part though. I do believe the deal was only for 2024.
Nobody likes 1-Hour Cutdowns of a miniscule fraction of the Bellator library or completely changing Bellator presentation to PFL cage/uniforms. Who would have thought?
Tomorrow mornings fights on Max confirmed?

PFL moving towards matchmaking is the right move IMO. The season stuff got old years ago.
I agree with Bellator being good right before the PFL buyout. PFL's version of Bellator is what I was referring to.This isn't true. Bellator was doing fine Viacom just didn't care about it and sold it to venture capitalists who destroy everything they touch.
Bellator was collateral damage. Their untimely exit was more so a result of Showtime wanting out of the sports business (i.e. boxing) and as such, started offloading assets for as quickly and cheaply as possible. PFL just so happened to be in the right place, at the right time (Saudi Cash infusion). This isn't true.
