Bellator attendance-7000, UFC-4000

Heres why bellator did better
1. There card was anounced first before ufc's
2. The undercard fighters worked their butts off selling tickets and so did their gyms and familys
3.the local ces mma crowd went to bellators event instead of ufc's

4.Bellator had known fighters on the main card

One of the fighters on bellators card kin moy draws a decent crowd on his own

Known fighters in squash matches. Just like strike force. Everything else you say doesn't mean it did better. That's how every bellator card works. Fighters help sell tickets or they don't get paid period and the rest are comps

Bellator announced event first. UFC picked that location to compete head to head against Bellator. Bellator had bigger crowd, not just by a couple hundred either. Bellator wins popularity contest. End of story.
Ufc sold out had less people there and had a bigger gate..but yeah free comps and lower gate equals win.. Lmao did they even make enough to cover Curran and kongos purse?

Not surprized at all. Mohegan Sun would have a ton more foot traffic being the much bigger and more well known casino.

Bellator had the biggest fight of the year by far and probably the best one this year as well as the main. Not that hard to believe they got those numbers.

I thought you were a troll on mmafighting but you are way worse here.

As Jason Floyd told you Machida/Weidman was by far the biggest fight of the year so far.

You guys trying to spin this for Bellator are embarrassing. The UFC sold their tickets at much higher price and sold out still.

7,000 people most of which were essentially open admission.

There was a reason that crowd was so awful though, most probably weren't MMA fans. They probably just went for fun since they didn't have to pay.

Bellator at 82k is really, really sad. Like embarrassing to be honest. But is what it is, when you are right next to the UFC.

How many of Bellator's tickets were comps? I attended a Bellator in California and also learned they use seat fillers for some of their shows - they bring people in and have them sit through the event so it doesn't look empty for television.

Enough to lower the average ticket Price to about $10.

7000 tickets at 11 dollars a pop. Man they sure showed the UFC. If only the UFC did a much higher gate and had better fights on the card. Oh wait....

I think the UFC was in a smaller venue. It looked they were in a high school gym.

This was all a coincidence. Spike TV usually has Bellator shows on Friday Night, which emanate from the Mohegan Sun Arena often. The UFC had to schedule a Fox Sports 1 card for a Friday night, due to College football season beginning on FS1 the next day.

Venue picked just happens to be 10 miles away, to which Bellator "Stacks" it's card, while the UFC noticing this and the coincidental scheduling, "stacks" their card as well.

As simple as that. Nobody intentionally tried to go against the other to prove any points. I watched all the fights on both cards, so I don't feel like I have any disdain or favoritism for either. I just like to watcha da fighting, period.

Competition in MMA is good, whether somewhat coincidental or not. We should all relish in the fact that we got to see a bunch of great matchups (and some stinkers) because of it. Not that one company needs to suck it while rooting wholegheartedly for another.

One thing I know for sure is Bellator was trending #1 last night on twitter but Fight Night, UFC, or any of the hashtags you would expect from a UFC fight night were not trending at all. I was very surprised.

To be fair though some individual UFC fighters were trending.

And to the average viewer at home that got to watch both, the Bellator broadcast was a little more atmospheric and with the crowd and production...

As a Bellator fan, I was not displeased. Successful night.

Was it due to the Bonnar/Tito stuff? The wrasslin' gets the people talking. Tried and true and never fails.
