Bellator 106 Does 1.1 Mill Average, 1.4 Mill Peak

Those look like nice numbers.

It'd be interesting to see how many viewers were big fans who tuned in to see a specific fight(s), and how many were just guys who saw that free fighting would be on TV and just decided to check it out. Curious how effective their advertising was for the Chandler/Alvarez rematch, and how much of their fanbase is made of hardcore vs casual fans.

It should be the same as every other show they did, percentage wise.

Unfortunately I thought my normal recording settings would apply from past Bellator events, but my DVR didn't categorize it as in the same group, so mine ended right on time, and I lost the entire Chandler-Alvarez fight. And to make matters worse, I was was watching only semi live at the time, several minutes behind, and then my DVR forcibly jumped to live tv to allow other recordings to work or some shit, so I ended up missing almost the entire, pivotal, 4th round. It largely spoiled the fight for me. The lesson is, use the DVR at your own risk. If a show is important to you, you gotta watch it live, or else.

My DVR is set to record Bellator events as well. Thankfully I noticed when scanning the guide that this event was listed simply as Chandler vs Alvarez II, Bellator wasn't in the title at all on the guide. So it would not have recorded at all had I not set the DVR to specifically record this show. I didn't really think about it at the time, but it definitely could have had an effect on more casual fans.

To the casual fan yes. I got my brother to watch and he orders the UFC ppv with friends. He said the show was pretty good but it was no UFC.

I'm sure the 3 fights in the middle of the card didn't help his opinion of the card. Not that you don't get those type of fights in the UFC but 3 relatively boring decisions in a row like that made an already long card seem even longer.

I'd like to see the quarter hours break down. I was thinking a lot of viewers might've tuned out during the 3 middle fights cause they dragged the show down

The peak was apparently during the Mo/newton fight so yeah I'd say those fights did hurt a little. They just made the show seem like it went on forever.

I even considered going to bed a few times during the Strauss/curran and mo/newton fights. The dog got walked a few extra times that night just so I could stay awake.

Very solid card delivered...Especially the main event. Glad they got good ratings.

The main event delivered and the opening fight delivered though it was quick. The middle dragged on especially the Mo/Newton and Riggs/Bronz fight.

Thats better than most ufc cards nowadays. Dana must be raging.

So many 'tards talk $hit about Bellator on here, yet you know damn well they will be watching...

Just enjoy the fights, lazy men sitting on their old couch in PJ's talking bad about an org is so lame.

I doubt it, it's close to the best card bellator can possibly put on. If they had the talent depth to do this weekly or even monthly, i think they'd be feeling the heat

Man, you just reminded me how much I miss my couch.

I'm guessing some DVR's stopped recording and turned to some other recording at 12 right as the main even started. That's what happens, even if the TV is off, the cable box is on to record, and if the recording ends at 12 and there is something else recording at that time the cable box will change channels automatically. TOO MANY COMMERCIALS SPIKE., MADE IT RUN TOO LONG.

Nah, only a small percentage of people's viewing habits actually contribute to ratings. They use that small grouping as an indicator of what similar aged demos would watch and then extrapolate that.

I figured this show would do solid ratings. Boy if it would've went under 1.0 it would've been huge disappointment. So good for them.

Bad news is they'll have a hard every repeating that unless they put part III on free TV. I'll be very interested in the Rampage show ratings.

Not bad, there was a lot of Football saturday.

Now to start stacking those tournaments again.
