"I feel like I would definitely want Leon Edwards, but if I'm looking at it fight-wise, and which one would give me most attraction? It would definitely be Khamzat. I think Khamzat's a bigger fight than Leon is actually. For me, for my goals and wanting to be the champ, I would obviously want to fight Leon Edwards and honestly I do think it's an easier fight than Khamzat. But that's the type of mentality I have, like, give me Khamzat who's the guy that everybody thinks gonna be the best in the world. So for me, I want to fight the guy that they think is the best. Nobody thinks Leon is the best, honestly."

"If I'm Leon Edwards I'd rather fight Belal Muhammad than Chimaev if Usman is hurt, and you have the option between these two guys. Leon is a champion so you'll get an option. Well, you know, if I was dominating Belal Muhammad in the first round then that's an easier match-up than Chimaev who's walking through everybody... So why would I say yes to Chimaev but not yes to Belal Muhammad?"

"For me, I'm looking at it like, they're gonna wait and somebody's gonna wait and last second they're either gonna try and give me Chimaev or they're gonna try and give me Leon Edwards. And I have to be prepared to say yes, so I'm getting in shape. March is just around the corner, and I'm training like I'm in a camp right now. Like yo, I gotta be ready for either of those two guys."

"I'm putting it out there into the Universe that I'm fighting for the belt in March. That's my thing, and then the fact that they haven't announced the Usman fight yet, it tells me that there is something wrong with him, he is not a 100% in there and I don't care what people say. It's like, if they announce that fight in London, that would be like the first fight to announce."

"Leon hasn't really fought a heavy grappler or heavy wrestler since the first Kamaru fight. After that loss, he was the one taking people down, controlling on the ground. So the way Usman has controlled him tells me that that's a flaw in his game and tells me that if he fights a Kobe Bryant, I mean a Colby Covington or if he fights me or Chimaev, we'll be able to do the same exact that Usman just did to him."

"Besides a title, Khamzat is the one I want. I think he is the biggest fight in the division, and maybe in the UFC, right now. He's the guy they think is untouchable, unbeatable and my mindset is like, so many people call me out with everything I do. They don't think I belong in the top 5, they always have a reason... Uh, excuses for why I win fights. So beating him, proving that I can beat Khamzat, there's no excuses for that, there's nothing. If I beat Khamzat, what excuses could there be? It's kind of just as good to beat him as winning the title fight because people see him as the next GOAT."

Just trying to talk shit to get the big fight. He doesn't mean it.

It is too bad, but talking shit can be almost as important as being actually good.

Belal is like UFC version of me. Dumb opinions and nobody cares about him
Hey now, I'm sure someone cares about Belal.

@MrLuke I know you won't like it, but try to absorb it.

Well, nobody remembers Belal's name, despite him wanting us all to remember the name
ive always liked that nickname. it kind of reeks of desperation. "well my fighting style wont win me any fans so let me just make my nickname this so maybe people will recall who i am". the joke practically writes itself

Good for Belal and he is right, dude is on his way to a TS, Edwards have acted like a douchebag lately.

that's the problem with the way they think. it's charisma that is important, not trash talking. they just confuse the 2 because charismatic fighters a lot of the times are trash talkers but not always.

I respect Belal. He’s a very good fighter.

But don’t come after the champ like that.

Does anybody believe Belal is the best WW? I sincerely doubt it. Show some respect, man.

Most fighters run from the challenges. You see it in champs too, they want the easiest title defenses rather than the most worthy contenders. Fans even defend those fighters as "they are making good moves for their career".

Belolz always brings the lawlz

While on the one hand, fair point - on the other TotD... these guys are learning that they have to create some drama. This is somewhat mild shit-talking at the end of the day. And I think the UFC is training guys to create drama in order to sell fights. Whether we like it or not, that seems to be part of the business. Belal just had to fight down (Brady) despite being on a huge win-streak. He's doing what he needs to fight up this time, from his perspective: hopefully for the belt.
Also, saying nobody thinks Leon is the best WW doesn't imply that he (Belal) is himself necessarily. I don't think only the best WW can say someone else isn't the best, right? If that was true, then literally only 1 person in the world could say other people aren't the best.
Part of the point of all of this is giving an opinion - whether a pundit, a fan, or a fellow fighter. So IDK, think you're being a bit harsh on Belal here.
Also, fwiw, I agree - Leon isn't the best WW on the planet. And I say that as someone who bet Leon getting over 3:1 (Believe I got +315) vs Usman bc I thought the line was too wide. Usman should be a favorite vs Leon IMO, and I think I make Khamzat a favorite vs Leon as well.
