Is Burns saying no to the fight period, or just no to catchweight?

He wants the fight at 170. Belal is arguing its too quick and too soon off Ramadan to make 170. It's less than 3 weeks from now, so I don't think he's wrong, but Gilbert is surely not to take any blame for this. It's just varying degrees of unreasonable expectation both ways, but only because of the fight date.

I would REALLY hope this didn't nix the fight altogether. I should think the first thing to 'give' isn't Belal doing a no-camp, 2 week cut straight off Ramadan or Burns accepting a catchweight if he can make 170, but just both of them agreeing on a further date instead. If Colby isn't going to get his bullshit shot until Oct, these guys can just fight in June or something, it's fine. Plus UFC 289 needs a good co-main to back up the insulting headliner of Nunes - Pena 3

Saul Goodman. Just noting the 'no blame' cuz blame has been thrown around a lot, not cuz I thought you were trying to. It really is the best fight that can be made in the division right now, if Dana's title plans aren't changing soon

Both from what I can tell, he won't do a catch weight and he won't fight at a later event so Belal has time to make 170.

The person getting a title shot next got it for being inactive for over a year. Rankings have been irrelevant for years. Burns could fight at 205 and get a shot at the 145 belt at this point. Rankings are meaningless

My job isn't professionally fighting. My job gets done Monday to Friday every week and I don't tell people to make special stipulations for me. lol nice try though with your silly logic

Unlike you, I'm not asking anything of fighters. I'm pointing out that Belal has no reason to forfeit 20% of his purse solely for Burns benefit. It makes literally no sense. If Burns wants to fight so soon then do a catchweight. No ranked WW is gonna be ready on 18 days notice. So unless he wants to fight a LW like Dustin, he'll need to do a catch.

Costa signed to fight at a weight then had that weight changed twice. Belal knows he can't make weight in time and is being upfront. Not at all the same
