Being paid once a month.

Last job I did - You just have to budget better (pay bills, rent, etc, right away.)

Love getting paid monthly. I get to pay all my bills at one time, then dump the rest into savings. I actually see what I have to work with for the month.

I get paid at the end of the month, for the next month, so if anything happens, I already got paid for that month. Sweet deal if I ever get laid off.

Any tips? I'm garbage at it and trying to get better.

I'm basically a toddler so baby steps bro.

Monthly checks would murder me.
Easy

1. Get your saving (% of income)
2. Schedule your costs and expenses (be honest here)
3. If available, send more money to point 1 and/or invest on a high risk project.
4. Party hard and/or spend away

Place objectives and spend as planned, but always keep a contingency fund ready (2 or 3 months of expenses).

It's not rocket science, it's just a matter of discipline

Cheers

I got paid monthly at my previous job. Always bi-weekly before that. I just got a new job and honestly I have no idea how often I get paid, just how much per year.

It shouldn't matter because under normal circumstances you should be saving a portion of your check no matter how often you are paid(weekly,bi-weekly,monthly). If not you are not living within your means.

My previous employer was a union and paid bi-weekly(I was in management and paid monthly). Some of these guys were making 5k plus on a pay check and still broke. I asked a guy once "how is it possible you were here 70-80 hours each of the last two weeks and still spent your entire pay check?" He chuckles and I say "what happens if your overtime hours go away.....blank look on his face.

Some people just don't get it. I actually have sympathy for people working minimum wage and living paycheck to paycheck. The majority of people that I have known living that way we're making more money than me, which is frustrating.

I hated the one fucking job that did that sadist 12 paychecks a year bullshit.

2 weeks is bad enough. For fucks sake just pay me on Friday and Id actually work harder, seriously. I'm gonna be a five day champ with a shit the bed and just get by doing the bare minimums that such lazy payroll decisions leave me thinking two people in a diabetic coma of gravy induced barbarism is just a slower and meat curtain arm flap wingin' version of a fist fight I'll throw down over when I show up after my doctor finally lets me Coke back to work with whatever disease I invented until payday cured teh AIDS away
