Any of you sherdoggers get monthly pay? Does it sting a lil. Is it easy for you to budget? If so, how do you do it? How long did you keep that monthly paying job?

Don't most people get paid monthly?

I've been paid monthly as long as ive had a full time job. Yes, it's very easy to budget.

Never had monthly pay but I don't think it'd matter because I have a strict budget.

Being paid fortnightly was a new thing here. Europe it's paid monthly. Apparently you're supposed to manage your money like an adult. Who knew?!

I did in China. It's not hard to budget really. Just don't go all hog wild after you get paid and learn to make it spread out.

Ive never had monthly pay, I've lived and worked in three different countries too. Its always weekly or fortnightly, Where do you live my bro?

My idea of buckwild is burgers and Netflix. I'm low maintenance.

I think he's from Singapore. Monthly pay is the norm in Asia as well, if I'm not mistaken.

Good way to be. That describes me too.

Im used to monthly pay ever since my first job. Like already stated, its easy to manage as long as you dont go full retard on payday.

That's the problem for a lot of people though -- they can't budget properly getting paid so infrequently. I sometimes think that's why a lot of unskilled jobs pay weekly in North America. You'd have idiots going full retard and buying $500-1000 dollars worth of booze and drugs on the first of every month, and then not have food to eat, gas to get to work, etc. I knew a guy who got paid weekly on Thursday, and more often than not his pay was gone by Mon. Dude was nearly 30 and still living at his parents, so he just partied his pay away by the middle of the following week.

You have to think it would be a bit easier for companies to manage and a little less costly for bi-weekly or monthly pay as opposed to weekly too -- especially for a smaller company that maybe doesn't deal with direct-deposit and is still cutting cheques to employees every week. You're almost micro-managing peoples hours as a business owner. If you're outsourcing payroll to a company like ADP I imagine it costs a bit more to pay weekly as well -- just from the amount of paperwork alone (especially for a company with 1000s of employees).

I'm used to bi-weekly pay, never had weekly pay after college.

no clue that was a thing. where im from bi-weekly is the norm. couple places do weekly pay.

I'm from UK but mostly worked here in Singapore.
I must admit it sucked when I started my first job here on a 1st of october few yrs back, and it took me until the last day of November to get paid. I was down to the last $3.60 in my pocket ( bank account had reached the max overdraft also).

As long as you arent loving paycheck to paycheck i think it's OK to be paid monthly.

In my current job when bonus and 13th month pay comes around it feels epic to get a pay check of 4-5* your monthly salary haha.

I guess this meme isnt totally out of place

Had to be done...

Getting paid monthly is the norm for full time jobs in the UK. It's absolutely fine for budgeting, they only potential issue is when you go from weekly to monthly. If you haven't got shit saved then having to eke out a weeks pay for a month until your first pay cheque is pretty miserable.

Monthly in Australia for me
Got paid today
Its like winning the lottery every month.
