Baudot vs. Parisian is a well-balanced fight. But I have to lean Baudot 60-40.

Physically and age-wise the fighters are closely matched. Josh is an inch taller, 6 pounds heavier and 2 years younger and their reaches are identical. Although Alan has fought at LHW before. In terms of their records Parisian is 14-5, 1-2 in the UFC while Baudot is less experienced at 8-3, with 1 no contest and 2 losses in the UFC. They have both recently lost decisions to Parker Porter - apart from that Josh has been a little more impressive in the UFC, having beaten Roque Martinez by split decision and then lost to Don'Tale Mayes by third round TKO, whereas Alan was TKOed by Aspinall in the first round on his debut (tough debut lol) and had a no contest against Rodrigo Nascimento where Rodrigo TKOed him then busted for ritalinic acid.

Stylewise both men are powerful, explosive strikers with a high (T)KO rate. Parisian has 10 out of 14 wins by (T)KO, although he does have a sub game too. His losses are fairly evenly divided between (T)KOs, decisions and subs. Baudot has 7 out of 8 wins by strikes and the other was a DQ loss in which he was submitted and then his opponent tested positive for cannabis. In fact that was the fight that got him signed to the UFC. He has 2 losses by (T)KO and one by decision.

So we can see that on paper there's not a lot of difference between them, but what there is, in size, age, experience and recent record is in Parisian's favour. So why am I picking the Black Samurai? I wouldn't be surprised by a decision for either fighter and I think there is a lower but not far-fetched chance that one gets the stoppage by (T)KO. The only thing I would be surprised by is a submission. This is Parisian's last fight on his contract and he has said he knows he needs not just to win but to make a statement to give himself the best chance of staying in the UFC. But I just think that Baudot is a bit faster and cleaner with his technique and will have more of an advantage the longer the fight goes as Parisian will slow down more. This is going to be a stand up fight and if Alan can be accurate and efficient with his energy I think he can accrue more points on the exchanges and take the decision.

Should be a competitive fight. But I'm not convinced either of these guys is actually UFC level

Well done, you found the one strike Baudot landed on Aspinall. Anyway, both guys are bottom feeders but Parisyan will have a size advantage but Baudot is in better shape. 50/50 fight could go either way

Baudot is fast and a pretty clean striker, but his punches really seem to lack weight against the big boys.
On top of that, his lack of heart and grit are a huge liability.

I wish he get a chance to improve and rebound, his style can be entertaining.

I dunno, I remember Baudot looked surprisingly good in his last fight compared to his previous appearances where he looked totally uninterested in the fight game. I'd have to watch it again to see if I agree, but I saw some legitimate arguments for him beating Porter. The fight was shit either way.

Parisian on the other hand is another middling volume guy at Heavyweight, basically a poor man's Collier or Porter. Decent but very much unexceptional. He's looked pretty bad in all of his UFC appearances. Even his Split over Martinez was pretty controversial.

If Baudot shows as much improvement between his last fight and now as he did between Nascimento smashing him and fighting Parker, then he should take this IMO. And I say this as a guy who was on the "How did this fraud make it into the UFC?!" train. He's still shit in the grand scheme of things, but I feel like he might be on an incrementally better trajectory than Josh for whatever reason.

Competition worthy of the highest level.
Baudot in a master class.

Baudot can't get off the cage or off his back for shit. I have my money on Parisian who sucks slightly less.

These guys are the absolute worst fighters in the division now that Hunsucker moved down. Baudot got knocked out in seconds by Dalcha and Parisian has never looked good in any fight, even the ones that won in the regional promotions he looked horrible. Well, maybe in the one on the contenders, he looked good because it only lasted a couple of minutes.

There are so many better heavyweights out there than these 2, but UFC seems to not want to sign heavyweights that wrestle. Just guys that throw strikes all the time. That's why they have Jake Collier, Parker Porter, Carlos Felipe and Chase Sherman there. They always strike.

Parisian got submitted in one minute by Brett Martin but Martin is not even consider for the contenders series, let alone the UFC, because he is a one dimensional wrestler. To be fair, there is nothing more boring that watching 2 exhausted heavyweights wrestle. So maybe it's better this way.

If Baudot can keep it standing, he wins. But if they clinch a lot or it goes to the ground, I think Parisian takes it

Not to derail the thread, but I thought this was a thread about Karo
