Physically and age-wise the fighters are closely matched. Josh is an inch taller, 6 pounds heavier and 2 years younger and their reaches are identical. Although Alan has fought at LHW before. In terms of their records Parisian is 14-5, 1-2 in the UFC while Baudot is less experienced at 8-3, with 1 no contest and 2 losses in the UFC. They have both recently lost decisions to Parker Porter - apart from that Josh has been a little more impressive in the UFC, having beaten Roque Martinez by split decision and then lost to Don'Tale Mayes by third round TKO, whereas Alan was TKOed by Aspinall in the first round on his debut (tough debut lol) and had a no contest against Rodrigo Nascimento where Rodrigo TKOed him then busted for ritalinic acid.
Stylewise both men are powerful, explosive strikers with a high (T)KO rate. Parisian has 10 out of 14 wins by (T)KO, although he does have a sub game too. His losses are fairly evenly divided between (T)KOs, decisions and subs. Baudot has 7 out of 8 wins by strikes and the other was a DQ loss in which he was submitted and then his opponent tested positive for cannabis. In fact that was the fight that got him signed to the UFC. He has 2 losses by (T)KO and one by decision.
So we can see that on paper there's not a lot of difference between them, but what there is, in size, age, experience and recent record is in Parisian's favour. So why am I picking the Black Samurai? I wouldn't be surprised by a decision for either fighter and I think there is a lower but not far-fetched chance that one gets the stoppage by (T)KO. The only thing I would be surprised by is a submission. This is Parisian's last fight on his contract and he has said he knows he needs not just to win but to make a statement to give himself the best chance of staying in the UFC. But I just think that Baudot is a bit faster and cleaner with his technique and will have more of an advantage the longer the fight goes as Parisian will slow down more. This is going to be a stand up fight and if Alan can be accurate and efficient with his energy I think he can accrue more points on the exchanges and take the decision.
