BATMAN V SUPERMAN v.10 (First Twitter Reactions)

It's too bad that WB/DC didn't do some solo Affleck
Batman movies before this one.

People forget that Batman is DC's golden boy. Batman movies always make money. And this has Batman vs Superman in the damn title. There's no way this doesn't make money. I personally believe that the comic book audience wants and needs an alternative to Wheadon's camp fest of quips. The problem I see is that ONLY Batman shines here. There are a lot of characters in the movie an some are a lot different then their comic book counter parts.

Imo this makes money no matter what. Superman and Batman together? GTFO you want that, don't lie. Problem is if it isn't good it puts their entire universe in danger. The best thing for fans is for both companies to do well, so I hope it's great. Not very optimistic though.

MOS alone did around 700mil. This has two of DC's most famous and most lucrative characters fighting against each other and as supporting cast has Wonder Woman, Cyborg and Lex Luthor with Doomsday being the big bad. It WILL make money. Will it be good is another story.

Yeah it can make money while still killing hype for the plethora of sequels coming. It has to make money AND be well received. I think it's highly unlikely it doesn't do well financially

I am pretty optimistic about it now, I hope it does well. I'm not a fan of the DC universe as a whole, but love pretty much anything Batman

If the rumors are true then I have a bad feeling towards the Skwad movie. If people think BvS is dark, then holy shit are they in for a kick to the feels when Batman's rouge gallery rolls into town. Half the cast had to go see a shrink during the shooting of the movie because of it's dark tone. And don't even get me started on Jared Leto's method acting approach to Joker.

How dark can suicide squad go with a PG-13 rating though?

I still don't know how the trailers have somehow managed to take me from excited for it to meh. I had seen enough after the last trailer, why another?

Batman's fight scene looked great, just wish it was saved for the cinema, just like seeing Doomsday and in outfit Wonder Woman.

The fuck? Literally none of this comes from DC/WB. It's all insiders/media outlets opinions. But I'm sure you'll say DC put them up to it or something.

Grow up. If that was the case, all DC had to was issue a statement to the exact opposite.

Hey, I'll be going to see it. But I'm not as excited for this as I am for Civil War.

I think what might change is the release schedules for their upcoming movies and changes of directors and approach to the JL films.

Batman standalone movie before JL and Snyder will be removed from all future projects. And they will bring in a director that will bring a more lighthearted approach with more universal appeal. A lot of people think Snyder sucks balls as director so this should make people happy since they will still get their DC movies minus Snyder.

I think a movie like Suicide Squad benefits from being dark, because thats what people expect from it. People hated MoS because Superman is a guy thats supposed to save everyone and make people have tingly feelings when they leave the theater.

When I ask people who hated Watchmen what it was that they hated about the movie the most common answer is "it was weird" not that it was too dark, it gave them an eerie feeling and it was a bit disturbing. I think that is what general audiences dislike about Snyders films.

This will be a moneymaker. And despite my initial revulsion to the news of Ben Affleck getting the Batman role, having seen some of the previews, I'm now optimistic. What's-his-face as Lex Luthor though...it's taking some effort to reserve judgment.

It'll be interesting to see how they bring the League together and how the DC movie universe is built. What do they take from Marvel and the Avengers and where do they go their own way?

Bat's is Superhuman in the comics, although no one ever comes out and admits it. Wayne can Bench 1,000lbs raw at a body weight of 210. He has an IQ of 192, photographic memory, has mastered 127 different styles of Martial Arts, can dodge bullets at close range, is the world's greatest detective...he's a Superhuman in all but name.

in comics most "human" heroes/villains are actually superhuman, batman would be peak of that, i.e. the superman of humans...but daredevil..even punisher are borderline superhuman in the damage the absorb and can fight through or ability to outsmart geniuses..high tech enemies and low level superhuman

if bvs does not make a profit, i will be shocked; sorry i cant see this movie missing, can't see it happening at all..sorry

True, especially DD. The Punisher is actually the most, "realistic" of Superheroes. If you were driven by personal tragedy to fight crime, you wouldn't have Superpowers, and if you rely on martial arts and non-lethal weapons you'll have a brutally short career. So how do you fight crime? Use guns, son. Big ones.:)

I hope this film delivers, I really do. I liked MoS a lot. I think Snyder is good director as well.

Steve "Frosty" Weintraub says he's heard nothing but good things about BvS from WB. He says McWeeny's report is just click-bait. Uh oh! Who to believe??

Keep an eye on the Australia opening day, that will give us an idea of how well BvS will open in the US. Almost all movies do 10X in the US whatever they do in Australia. The 4-day Australian opening is almost always a good indicator for how much a movie will open to in the US.

I'm one of the few that are very interested in Luthors character arc throughout the DC films. I think people wanted an actor with more physical presence, deeper voice and stoic demeaner. But the thing is that both Aflleck and Cavill are both actors with large physical presence, deep voices and stoic demeanors so I like the fact they are portraying Luthor as more charismatic and animated, it adds some variety.

One thing for sure though is that they will really play up the fact that he is an evil genius, perhaps even smarter than batman with access to even higher level of technology. I think he's going to be one of the main villains throughout the JL movies and MoS movies. Always in the background stirring shit up and bringing new tricks to the table, possibly even recruit JL members to join him. His greatest power will be his power to convince people to do things that he wants them to do, to manipulate them, as he did to Superboy Prime in the comics when he convinced him to destroy all the DC heroes.

I think they are really going to show just how powerful Luthors technology is, powerful enough to make mechanized suits to battle gods, genetic manipulation to create monsters like DD, this is going to be a Luthor we've never seen before. I think he will be the one of the most influential characters in the DCEU, he might even fight alongside the heroes against a bigger threat and then turn on them later.
