It seems many people in this thread (and other DC-related threads) are here simply to criticize anything DC does and constantly compare it to Marvel. Go check out the MCU related threads and you'll see these same posters praising any and all things Marvel. From what I've seen so far, both companies are targeting very similar demographics, although Marvel seems to have a broader audience base.
And yes, I fully agree that door swings both ways, by no means is it specific to Marvel fans... DC fans are equally at fault. It just seems that there are so many people that act or feel like they have to choose a side. Why? This literally makes no sense to me. I agree that Marvel has done a superb job at rebooting or bringing to life comic book superheroes, and their success was very much responsible for DC following suit. Personally, I like to think I'm allowed to be a fan of both, although I've seen people scowl upon hearing that. Their problem, not mine.
People have said that DC has spoiled the movie with the newest trailer. Really? Between the studios and leaks, teasers and trailers and all the promotional tie-ins, I think I've seen half of every Marvel movie before it hits theaters.
I loved this trailer. I thought it was great. I just wish more people would watch it not expecting a Marvel property and with the understanding the DC has chosen to go a much different route. And the same holds true with DC's movies. It's not bright and cheery, it's not vivid and full of color. The tone is much more serious, and the dialogue is not full of witty banter that is so simple a 7 year old can understand it.
The introduction of Doomsday shouldn't have come as a surprise to anyone. Given the heroes that we've seen (or know of making a cameo), Lex Luthor alone was never going to be enough of a sole villain to justify having a group of superhero heavy-hitters. I'll be honest, I was expecting Brainiac, but Doomsday comes as a very, very pleasant twist.
