Yeah the merchandising. Cause everyone wants a tshirt/action figure of an awful movie

This movie is not even going to cross 800 million. Complete failure in every sense

well this movie will make way more profit than man of steel because of merchandising, product placement and sponsor.

and just like what i've said thousand of times, this not an awful movie for most of the audience.

this is the firs time the DC trinity are in the same screen, people are going to buy a lot of merchandise.

It's strange in this thread.. When people mention Marvel movies they leave out X-Men. DOFP was a legit good movie. First Class was decent as well. GOTG and DOFP literally sh*t on the Avengers, imho. Higher hopes for Civil War.

because those properties are no longer marvel properties.

I think a lot of people as they do are jumping on the bandwagon about how bad this film is.

I thought it was a great film. I'm glad I was wrong about Ben, who was brilliant as the bat and Bruce and Gal who stole the scene when she made her appearance as Wonder Woman.

Do you work for WB/DC marketing? You've been sounding like a cheerleader in this thread.

It will End up short of 850 mill worldwide , is my guess and short of 350 Million Domestic, enough to justify a sequel , not the big hit that Alot of people thought it would be , but we also have take into consideration that it's not summer yet , though the poor reviews did kill it's holdover chances.

Movie is tanking. The Boss beat it for the weekend. Still has not hit 300 million yet.

Update: April 10, 2016

Melissa McCarthy's THE BOSS Squeezes Ahead of BATMAN V SUPERMAN

Melissa McCarthy, squaring off against both Batman and Superman over the weekend, scored a narrow victory, as the raucous comedian’s new feature The Boss claimed the top spot at the North American box office in a virtual photo finish with an estimated $23.48 million, just a few dollars above Batman v. Superman’s weekend gross of $23.44 million. The superhero movie fell 54 percent in its third weekend as its total domestic tally rose to $296.7 million.

The Boss, released by Universal in 3,480 locations, had to overcome withering reviews — its approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes was just 18 percent — and a C+ rating from CinemaScore, along the way. But, McCarthy could nevertheless claim her third No. 1 one opening, following 2013’s Identity Thief and last summer’s Spy.

The Boss and Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, playing in 4,102 locations, actually seesawed back and forth during the course of the weekend. Boss took Friday with $8.1 million, including $985,000 from Thursday night previews, versus BvS’s $6.05 million, but then BvS was stronger on Saturday with $10.7 million versus Boss’ $9.7 million. BvS is expected to cross the $300 million mark domestically by Tuesday or Wednesday of this week.

Internationally, BvS took in $34 million from 67 markets to bring its international cume to $486.8 million and its worldwide total to $783.5 million.

Lol BVS lost to a Melissa McCarthy movie. Yeah it's over. I'm sure it'll make some profit, but it's not going to be a huge blockbuster. Word of mouth is killing this movies hype so fast.

well in its third weekend, yeah.........

I read somewhere that most of marvel movie make around 10 million CMIIW in its third weekend, which mean they will also will get beat by this movie.

btw Melisa Mcarthy is very underrated, she is very funny and her movie is fun to watch.

Wonder Woman and Batfleck were literally the ONLY good things about this movie. And Amy Adams in a bathtub.

Imo the problem is you cannot have Superman exist in a bleak, joyless, joke less world. Superman has always had family friendly movies that parents could take their kids to see without concern. This movie was dark, serious and straight up fucking depressing. That's fine for a Batman movie. But not a Superman movie. Just felt wrong. Zack Snyder must be one creepy motherfucker irl, man. I hope nobody ever hands him a camera again.

I can't wait for Civil War to come out and shit all over this turd. <---lol that doesn't make sense but you know what I mean :D

True in some respects. Batman vs superman should predominantly be an ideological battle. The dark vs light , with the two eventually finding a balance. That was harder to portray since superman is darker in these movies.

I'm just happy Batman actually finally fought like batman should. As well as us seeing that his best weapon is his strategic mind and ability to battle plan. He fought like a bar fighter in the Nolan films, and didn't show any of his genius intellect.

Civil war could be good. But marvel have the opposite problem to DC. They struggle to make films that are darker with more adult themes (they couldn't even hint at killing off some random dog in age of ultron, and had to show it being saved).Civil war should be darker, and if it isn't the film will be garbage.

Can't wait for the suicide squad to come out and shit all over that potential turd :)

Idk man I don't have a good feeling about Suicide Squad. Especially since they're doing all these weeks of reshoots. At first they said the reshoots were to "inject some humor" into it, then somebody said it was to "add more action." So either they made a comic book movie with no action or they made a Joker movie with no jokes. Either way I don't have high hopes. And I'm calling it now, Civil War will be 10x better than Suicide Squad.
