BATMAN V SUPERMAN Thread v.12

Snyder doesn't understand Superman in any capacity. His Superman movies are also joyless and bleak. Way to ruin something that could have been great.

This may not cross $1-billion worldwide. Snyder needs to get fired.

Did he kill those cops? Yeah probably

Nolan batman is an asshole

Not even sure what your point is. If your standard for whether or not Batman kills people is whether or not the act is likely to result in actual death if it were done in the real world, then he's killed tons of people for decades.

Newsflash for some people. BATMAN HAS KILLED PEOPLE IN THE COMICS.

But did he kill cops and civilians like Nolan Batman?

My bad if true

No problem. The problem, at least for me, with Batman killing in BvS is it seemed like Snyder was doing a big "fuck you" to the fans. He should have had Batman nearly beating some thugs within an inch of their life and have Alfred call him out on it. That way Bruce is really starting to walk that fine line and almost becoming what he swore to protect Gotham against. Instead, Snyder just has his Batman outright content with wanton destruction and carnage, lol.

Batman is always going to somehow kill or have some form of collateral damage in the movies, which is fine. But don't rub our noses in it.

Did Nolans Batman kill civilians and cops?

Or did he wreck cars or something? Because we're still talking about a comic book character and crashing cop cars is hardly something Nolan invented.

And like the poster above said. Alfred says "Good thing no one was killed".

seems like a cheap way to gloss it over. plus whatever condition they were left in isn't gonna be very fun and why? they were doing their jobs

I think what they tried, and failed, to do was somehow convey that after 20 years Batman was just fed up with it. Robin getting killed was sort of his breaking point.

But at the same time, this is DCs baby. For whatever reason they felt it was best go ahead and do Batman killing people. I think many of the problems the movie has is likely DCs fault as much as anything.

Of course it's a cheap way to gloss it over. Batman cant do the stuff hes been doing for 80 years and not kill people at some point.

so he's like the punisher, just without the ability to admit he's willing to kill/maim people for his sense of greater justice

Punisher is a more we efficient and less theatrical Batman. Bruce may kill here and there if necessary, but Punisher doesn't stop unless the bad guy is 100% dead.

i loved superman growing up, as well as marvel, so i have my biases and ignorance

but i do kinda see batman as a lesser punisher at times

No, he isnt like The Punisher because he doesnt actually kill people. Or maim them, either.

The point is, in reality people would die from what he does. In a comic book or a movie, not so much.
