BATMAN V SUPERMAN Thread v.12

Saw it last night and I thought it was decent. The girl I was with invited me to see it and she fell asleep if that accounts for anything. I understand why they had to make emo Superman, but they let that role linger wayyy too long. Also, Batman became friends with Superman in a couple of seconds after years of hatred for the man...wtf? And one more thing, if I have to watch 1 more scene with some person putting their palm on Superman's cheek as he looks deeply into their soul, I'm going to lose it.

Hopefully with the back story out of the way and the world realizing that he's not there to hurt anyone, he can truly start to blossom as a character.

think this is pretty fair. wasn't a bad flick but wasn't that great either. and yea, superman's shtick is getting a little old. superman's current claim to fame starts and ends with being able to fly and stuff. besides that, he's pretty wooden

From a pure action hero movie i rate it a 8.5 out of 10.

Eisenberg nailed it as Luthor. An all the actions sequences were greatly done.

Prior scene to the ending im guessing Luthor was referring to Darkseid?

got 50-55 million in the second weekend.

which is not bad considering harry potter has worse second weekend drop.

I rarely go see super hero movies. I checked this one out, because the Dark Knight Returns was one of my favorite comic books growing up.

I went in with bias from reading everyone's reviews on here, but I actually thought the film was great. I liked the story (even though I have my qualms), and even the editing didn't bother me. I admit that my love for TDKR had probably skewed my opinion.

Anyway, Batman was awesome and stole the show for me. I thought it was an accurate portrayal of Miller's creation (the personality, the costume, Affleck's build and the way he moved, etc.).

I know some people don't like Batman killing people, but in TDKR Batman uses guns to blow away mutants, kills the mutant leader, and snaps the Joker's neck.

He also kicks Superman's ass and has him beat before he fakes his own death, so it didn't really bother me that Superman could have probably ended the fight anytime he wanted.

Like Dragonlord mentioned, I pretty much just shut my brain off. I mean it's a story about a guy in a bat costume and another guy in tights that flies around.

I will probably go see it again, because I'm a moron and my IMAX ticket was not for the 3-D showing.

8/10

That's a prediction, not the actual numbers. Hard data for the whole weekend isn't out until Monday.
Yea thats a pretty optimistic prediction too. It only made $15m on friday. Imagine if something bigger than 'God's Not Dead 2' came out this week lol.

I think this movie does under 700k now

Big bomb

I suspect Suicide Squad is not going to fair much better. WB loves to ruin movies

He does not, however, kill the Joker.

I'm really very disappointed...with you, my sweet. The moment was perfect and you...didn't have the nerve...paralysis, really.

Just an ounce or two more pressure and...do I hear sirens? Yes, coming close. You won't get far...

But then it doesn't matter if you do. They'll kill you for this...and they'll never know you didn't have the nerve...

I'll see you in Hell.

With a devil's strength he twists...and twists. What's left of his spine goes.

Whatever's in him rustles as it leaves...sirens echo down the tunnel...tires screech...

The world is growing dark. And cold.

As I said before, DC/WB only made two great calls with this movie. The first was to cast Affleck as Batman.

The second was to change the original release date to avoid going head to head with Captain America: Civil War

Any box office disappointment hopefully leads to a standalone Bats film quick while all else gets pushed back.

Well, he dies anyway.

Touche though, you are right :)
