http://forums.sherdog.com/posts/90158787/Was this the movie where Derpy McGoyer had to have his script re-written or was it Justice League?
I guess that explains some of the issues.http://forums.sherdog.com/posts/90158787/
Argo screenwriter Chris Terrio rewrote David Goyer's Batman v Superman script.
Last I heard is he wants to do more Mad Max but not right now. Said something like he wants to do smaller movies for a while. Considering Fury Road was like 10 years in the making it's no wonder he wants a break.
Walt turned them down, that's why Snyder went brainstorming and came up with this genius idea.
p.s. Anyone else notice Todd Duffe in that underground fight club scene?
As of now, Chris Terrio is the sole writer in Justice League Part One.I guess that explains some of the issues.
I really hope that fucking tit isn't involved with Justice League as well.
Saw it last night. Really wanted it to be good and was let down. Movie just was so disjointed, with way too much crammed in.
Positives: Affleck killed it as both Bruce Wayne and Batman. This was the best version of Bats we've seen on screen. Really captures the menace that Batman is supposed to instil, the fights had awesome use of gadgets and he was just brutal. He also played the playboy billionaire really well. Looking forward to his solo movie.
Visuals were good, with exception of the insanely CGI Doomsday fight.
Holly Hunter was great. She stole the scenes she was in.
The Batman Superman fight did not disappoint in terms of the fight itself.
Negatives:
Eissenberg was horrible. Literally cringe worthy time on screen. Seemed more like a college kid with some ADHD and personality disorder instead of an actual villain. He was just so over the top in his actions (jolly rancher scene??), his disjointed sentences, and his outfits. He was just punchable, really wanted to see someone, anyone, punch him. Also the idea that he figured out all the metas and influenced Batman and Superman showdown was laughable, nothing in the movie shows he is capable of that.
The story itself just didn't know where it wanted to go. Too many storylines and shoe ins of other characters to make it cohesive.
Doomsday fight and ending just did not work for me. His energy absorbing, heat vision and overall look just did not make him seem like Doomsday. Even with the growth of the additional bone spurs, still did not do it for me.
Also Ezra Miller looks like a damn hipster version of Flash. DC having separate TV and film universes is pissing me off.
Has this been posted? Clearly the man knows what he's talking about
Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice took in $12.23 million at the domestic box office on Tuesday, breaking the record for box office take on a Tuesday in March. That brings the film’s box office total to $193.27 million total domestically.
Audience numbers also dropped 38% between Friday and Sunday, second only to the 40% drop off suffered by The Dark Knight Rises.
This is totally overhyped. A lot of people had Friday off with nothing going on for Good Friday, meanwhile Sunday was easter and many people would have been busy with their families. Not to mention, when so many people see a movie on Friday (enough to propel it to record breaking amounts for the whole weekend), the Sunday fall off makes sense.Forbes reporting that BvS now has the largest weekend drop off in history: 55% between Friday and Sunday.
This was reported on monday
So in other words...old news
Forbes reporting that BvS now has the largest weekend drop off in history: 55% between Friday and Sunday.
It seems DC only made two smart choices with this movie. The first was casting Affleck. The second was changing the release date so they didn't go head to head with Civil War.
Those numbers, while not something to be happy about, aren't necessarily as terrible as they sound. When the article was posted earlier I looked into it some more and said this:Audience numbers also dropped 38% between Friday and Sunday, second only to the 40% drop off suffered by The Dark Knight Rises.
So I just spent a bunch of time updating my spreadsheet with this data...and it sucks. My dataset is twice as large as the one used in the article and I found virtually zero correlation between the Friday/Sunday Drop and Opening Weekend/Total Gross or Opening Week/Total Gross. This means the retention over the course of opening weekend tells you jack squat about a film's legs. That said, BvS's number in that category are about twice as bad as the median which is hardly a positive.
