Well I just looked and the party scene is before the scene where he talks to the ship

and during the party scene he implies he already knows who both batman and superman are

The film alludes that Luthor know who Clark Kent is at the Benefit/Gala.

"That is a good grip! You should not pick a fight with this person!"

Also, Clark Kent can clearly hear Alfred in Bruce's ear, which would have tipped him off to Bruce's identity.

But those plot points are never really reconciled.

But the movie would have been so much better if, after the Batmobile chase sequence, it's Superman who crashes through the Batcave and warns Bruce to give it up, making Bruce's attempt to steal the Kryptonite all the more important.

I don't remember maybe. That movie was so meh I've forgotten most of it. Maybe that's how he knew, would have been nice if they gave some explanation for it.


Everyone's behavior and level of information seemed to just go with whatever the plot demanded

The plot points were loose, thats for sure. I mean Luthor did figure out Kryptonian genetics and created Doomsday pretty quickly. It was also odd that the first thing it tried to do was kill Lex...He probably should've anticipated that happening.

The movie was over saturated and it did have some glaring holes in order to just speed things along in the JL world.

But they hinted at Flashpoint and maybe even Injustice, so i am happy.

Alternate Reality Jason Todd returns to help Batman restore the original timeline! Throw in everyone! Bats! Supes! Wonder Woman! Joker! Zombie Jason Todd! Krypto!!!! THROW THEM ALL IN!
