Superman actor just doesn't seem likeable. He's no Christopher Reeves.
I feel Cavill gets a bad rap for his dour Superman performance. It's not his fault, it's just the way this Superman is poorly written and mis-characterized.

Wonder Woman was absolutely stunning, and one of the best things about the movie.

Swap in Katie Marie Cork and I'd agree. The cool thing was the special background music when it was Wonder Woman's "go time" as if "oh shit, here it comes". Her fighting was fierce and she got some good licks in there.

Best part of the movie right here. If you were to imagine how Batman is supposed to fight, this is literally perfect IMO.

Aside from Dredd, Batman Returns and MoS the ultimate cut is the best the superhero genre has to offer.

I think it's the disappointment that makes people underrate it. They were expecting something epic. Personally, I went into it expecting a mediocre movie and I enjoyed myself.

There are individual scenes that kick so much ass even on the re-watch. Like I will never get tired of that Batman warehouse scene no matter how many times I see it. That was just so well executed. I originally thought that the Batmobile scene was good but couldn't compare to the tumbler scenes in the Batman Begins and The Dark Knight. But on re-watch, I think I undersold that sequence. It was awesome.

Hell, I'll outright say too that I liked a lot of what people are complaining about as the mopey/dull aspect of the movie where Superman and Lois are the focus. I really thought that Cavill and Adams did a good job and I found their plot interesting even without the elaboration of plot in the Snyder Director's Cut.

The most problematic stuff is that Eisenberg is just far too silly and when he tries to be menacing, he is still silly in that role. There are many things that I hated about that performance. And I think Eisenberg is a very solid actor. It was just that characterization was shit.

Sorry for the redundancy if I already addressed this in this thread, but I don't think I did. One scene that I think was highly effective was when Supes has to testify before the Senate Committee. What I think was masterfully done there was the toying with audience expectations.

When you see Holly Hunter turn the glass around and it says, Granny's Peach Tea, the audience inclination is to laugh based on the implication that Luthor vindictively pissed in her glass. Both times I saw the film in a theater, there was widespread laughter in the audience and then BOOM...highly jarring, unsettling, even frightening moment made more so because of the way that was set up.

But on watching it again, Holly Hunter really plays that perfectly. When she sees that tea, she doesn't have an angry look that says, "that little douche," or something like that- she is completely thrown off, stuttering, and shaken. She knows something is up and seems outright terrified right before the explosion. Great actress and she did a lot with a small role.

I think the scene is several times better in the ultimate cut. It's all building to that scene. From the point where the African lady confesses to the senator, to her seeing KGBeast and purposely missing her bus stop, to Lois figuring out Lex is behind everything, to the African lady then getting murdered, it all builds up to the senate scene. The scene where the African lady gets murdered happens and then cuts to Lex talking to senator Finch right outside where the hearing is taking place. That puts that scene in a whole new light. There's this dark undertone to it.

But they cut all this out in the theatrical cut and all you're left with is a jar of piss.

Holly Hunter in that scene by herself brought the most tension. No special effects. Just her performance.

I'm the same way. I've watched it a dozen times, but have yet to actually see the entire Ultimate Edition all the way through.

The part that really gets me is how much Batfleck throws himself into the punch after reeling the guy in with the grappling gun. He really cranks it. They also captured a nice rhythm, especially when the guy pulls the pin on the grenade, only to be bat-thwarted. One. Two. THREE. I think they listened to Snipes' commentary track for BLADE.

Very well said. The cadence of that scene is awesome.

I finally got to see the extended version. It's a more coherent film...but it's still boring as shit. There is almost no dramatic tension. Yeah, there's some good individual scenes and some good lines here and there, but there's nothing really propelling you through the film. It wants to be an in-depth character study but forgets to be interesting along the way.

When I got back from the theater originally I wasn't sure what to give it but settled on a 5.5/10. Now, having seen it again, even with it being the more complete ultimate edition, I think I was being too generous. I'm downgrading my score to a 4/10. It's just too bloated and meandering.

It's been said ad nausuem - but the film never recovers from the crescendo of the Senate scene.

By the time BvS actually happens, it feels slightly anti-climactic. The pacing changes and the film kind of flutters along.

Whereas The Dark Knight had an extra gear it shifts to after the "Harvey/Rachel" scene. BvS' final act doesn't reload on the tension or drama.

Finally forced myself to watch this trash last night. People going on about Gal Gadot is an awesome WW need to stop. She isn't terrible, but I laughed my ass off at her during that final battle. Do two moves, get a slow mo shot of her looking sexy. Rinse. Repeat. I get it. "Hey, look at her doing this pose for a couple seconds longer because she's hot!"

Yes she is, but her movie is going to be a disaster.

The issues I have with her being unleashed here is that her Movie is set in World War I , she just held her own against Zod/Doomsday , what the fuck threat can be posed to her by Soldiers in world War 1, unless one of the Greek Gods is hiding as an adversary.

LOL @

Wonder Woman - "I've fought things from other worlds before."

Batfleck -

The final act should have revolved around Batman's dilemma from the first act (ie. Watching Zod and Superman destroy Metropolis and being powerless to stop it.)

The whole movie pokes about the theme of power and divinity and duty, and then drops those subjects quickly.

The final act should have simply been Superman and Wonder Woman battling Doomsday all across the world, forget just Metropolis and Gotham. And now Bats has to decide whether to use the spear to kill them all while he has the chance - To finally stop what he couldn't stop before. And the third act comes back to the same perspective as we did in the beginning of the film - One man caught in the middle of "divine" action and finally having the power to try and intervene.

If it is a god, its no doubt Ares (God of war).

Wonder women and batflek actually killing bad guys saved this abysmal... Stick to your marvel kiddy movies if you hate it.

WW was the only bright spot in BvS, and yeah Batman killing people was awesome! Screw the 75 years of canon that explicitly states Batman doesn't kill!

And yeah WS was such a kiddy movie, with all the violence and adult jokes. :/

The depths DC fanboys sink to when trying to prop up a mediocre at best, boring, lacking a coherent plot and dull movie and insulting Marvel is fascinating.
