Media Bas Rutten, Latest Victim of The Carnivore Diet.

Appreciate that, truely. Yeah I got into prior to the trend for medical reasons. After a year or two you don't even think about it, but initially quiting the American diet was like detoxing from heroin.
I think this is key. A lot of people eat very bad or potentially just react to something specific they're eating. Then they go to meat only and their symptoms decrease and then they think that meat is the holy grail and everything else is bad. In reality it's probably more about eliminating something that's bad for them.

It's basically what an elimination diet does, except it's followed by then slowly reintroducing foods to see which ones you react to.

That's not true. Most "influencers" admit they were full of shit. Only the dumb follow these types of trends. Anyone including you who have followed this method are fucking idiots. IM SOOOOO FUCKING AAAALFAAAA!

Given the way you write, you truly sound like an absolutely secure alpha. 100%.

Most carnivore stay carnivore for a couple years then slowly reintroduce some fruit and veggies. Only content creators stay pure carnivore to not lose audience.

Yeah it's surprising to find someone who truly never enjoyed a strawberry or a mango for 10 years.

I respect the determination. Seriously.
Brock claimed that his two diverticulitis diagnosis encounters were mainly attributed to him having a strict carnivore diet, which consisted of mainly meat and potatoes. It was until his second run-in with the disease, where he started cultivating a cleaner diet by adding chicken, broccoli and veggies to his regime.

The modern standards of fitness are so extreme compared to the past. The shirtless dude jogging in the park would of been mr universe back in the day.

I'm frequently amazed by the naivety of people to steroid use in athletes, actors, and giant freak shows
At least in here it is not the norm once you get off the screen and social media. I go to a pretty crowded gym and even the guys that go everyday and I'm suspicious are taking something are nowhere near "fitness industry" level physique.

For internet standards I'm a "do you even lift bro" but in real life I'm in better shape than most.

But hey.. Chris Hemsworth got jacked doing his stupid app excercises lol.

you got into it for medical reasons?

what did you base your decision on in the first place? i.e what piece of evidence lead you to believe that consuming only flesh would be a good idea (i.e a true carnivore does)

also any long term studies on the efficacy of such a dieit?

I have ehlers danlos and became bed ridden. Doctors couldn't help so I just tried everything possible and did the diet as last resort. It didn't cure me but it completely changed my life and turned me back into a functioning human being. Bonus is that I'm in great shape and have a healthy relationship with food.

Yeah I don't think other foods are bad. I think everybody is different though really. I've dealt with a lot of people with auto immune issues and and have seen first hand that people react differently to all kinds of diets.

The reasons diets like this are so popular is because they're essentially crash diets. You cut out the majority of your food and limit it to just meat, eggs, and maybe cheese and some dairy. You lose water weight and some fat really fast, which makes you think it's amazing, but eventually the pounds stop coming off and over years all that fat starts clogging up your arteries.

Eddie Hall did this a while back and there were definitely negative side effects when he got his blood work done.
Guys like Hall or Lesnar probably need north of 6K calories just to maintain all the hypetrophy. I wouldn't be surprised if it's over 10K and that's a lot of beef & chicken breast for a digestive system that wasn't designed to keep up with their muscle mass in the first place.

Why do people in their 40's and 50's still not know exactly what they're supposed to be consuming and what they're not? This shit is not rare earth minerals waiting to be discovered, it's very common knowledge and chatgpt can sort your ass out in 30 seconds if you're somehow still too retarded to know. Fucking clown country.
I could ask the same thing about an entire thread of nutrition casuals wondering why people even do carnivore

It's not a trend or fad, its a tool like anything else.

Not designed to use forever, but for many, an elimination diet like carnivore allows their system to get back on course. It allows reprieve for them to heal from their issues, and then slowly introduce previously problem foods back ito the diet.

Carnivore could act like a reset to the system, during a time where it's bombarded by poisons, where the system is attacking itself with autoimmunity or some other issue is at play.

We are very well adapted to such a diet. That doesn't necessarily mean someone should stay on it forever, we're ominovorous. While living off the land, we ate whatever was available, according to the seasons.

There's nothing wrong with eating only meat for a while though. We've spent large amounts of human history eating only meat. Long before agriculture ever existed. Many still do. It's nothing new.

I have a mate who was a strict vego ' Dont eat meat he would say, with me gagging at the thought of a full vego diet. He has gone full carnivore for the last 4 years, now he says ' dont eat vege', with me gagging at the thought of a meat only diet. The upside for him is that hes lost 50 kilo and no longer takes any psychiatric medicines that he had taken for years. He can be emotionally a little fragile in certain situations, but its got to be better than swallowing psych drugs for years.
