What if there was a combat sport where fighters only punched to the body without any protective gear? Think of all the benefits:

-Very mild injury risk due to a.) the face not getting punched and b.) the hands not contacting the skull.
-Very little post-fight recovery due to the almost non-existent risk of injury.
-Fighters can go to work the next day because they don't have to worry about concussions.
-Training for this sport will develop super strong abdominals, really good punches, a great pain tolerance.
-Fighters can treat this as an "introductory" fighting art (due to its safety) and then move onto other styles if they're ready.
-Fighters of any striking style can very easily train for this type of competition without interfering with their style's main ruleset.
-People of any age or athletic ability can compete, increasing the potential talent pool.
-Teaching this style of fighting would be extremely easy, further increasing the talent pool.
-Training bareknuckle has practical self-defense applications due to the absence of gear.
-It would still be somewhat entertaining because, after all, it's two people trying to pound each other into submission.

I'm still thinking of names for what you would even call this. BKTP? (Bare Knuckle Tummy Pounding)

The concept has existed among fighters for years. They just call it a body spar. Errol Spence is on video doing it out of the ring with his shirt off.

Why not have a tournament for it? To see who has the most stronk tum-tum.

Probably because it's about as silly as slap fighting. Neither is practical. In a real fight that's been initiated you're going to close your fist and punch the other person in the face 9 out of 10 times.

The way I see it: punching to the face without training could result in hand injury. Punching to the body has a lower risk.
Why not first verify your body punching ability before moving up to the face? Idk about you, but if I can't punch the body, I won't punch the face.

I've gone to the body in street fights and it does work but if you know how to control your power and punch correctly to the face then your hands and wrists should hold up. As long as you avoid punching their forehead or the top of the head with your bare knuckles.

look at the join date guys

cant believe some of you fell for this

Here's a 2 vs 1 match featuring a man against a couple women. There's no limit to the absurdity we see today. Anything goes.

Trying to remove pain from the hurt business is the same as trying to remove the ocean to beach tourism. It just doesn't work.

if this is a serious thread, it needs to be moved, has nothing to do with boxing, just like someone saying "lets play football, but without a ball, and instead they have a racket and hit shuttlecocks into a net, buts its 11v11 team sport and you are allowed to kick people"
