2. Tchaikovsky - Piano Concerto No 1 b minor Op 23. The opening 'song' on a very memorable album for me. One Christmas my grandmother (who knew nothing about classical music) wanted to surprise yours truly (then a teenager who had taken a recent interest in classical music) and got me an album of the latest classical music - it was Hooked On Classics, basically a potpourri of the best known bits from all the great composers set in disco tempo with electronic handclaps and everything. Like, the utmost in blasphemy In the shop they'd told her it was just the thing for a young person! At the time i didn't know whether to laugh or cry. Now, so many years after grandmother's passing i do know. It's a little bit of both. <3

6. Eagles - I Can't Tell You Why - My Uncle would be taking my older brother and I to Church every Sunday. He was a huge bear of a man. He had an 8-track tape player in his Datsun pickup truck and he was always playing Eagles tunes. He took us under his wing after our dad cut out and was a man among men. I always loved this song.
