Keeping up with Summer...

13 songs you first heard while on vacation. Bonus points for location.

1. Mario Biondi - Love Is A Temple (Heard it whilst in a restaurant in Amsterdam)
2.Looking Glass-Brandy (The Red Noodle Bar on Waikiki)

Gonna cheat a little here, I was actually on R&R heading to Hong Kong, then Tokyo on our way back to Nam.

There we sat drinking whiskey when the house band started singing the song, I had never heard it before but what a perfect fit. And we did have a bar maid taking care of us. (wouldn't it have been something if her name had been.......)

A few weeks later I hear the song on the radio, my first thought......damn they recorded it......hahaha~~~

I finally figured it out. Bummer they didn't do more.

I was maybe 13, on a family vacation to visit my grandparents in Michigan over the summer. They lived in a town of about 2000 people, nothing to do, and I was bored most of the time. I strolled in to the town’s drugstore which had a small section selling cassettes, and saw Black Sabbath Vol 4. At the time I knew Sabbath was a badass, legendary band, and that they did “Iron Man” or whatever. But my 13 year old self had yet to really explore them, so I bought the album. It’s still one of my favorite Sabbath albums, and my brain exploded as soon as I heard the first track.
