Bad Bunny

The NFL has been around since 1920, obviously how it was being done was very successful, now a multi billion dollar industry, they don't need the WORLD and that should be very obvious, they will get by just fine without it. Just like they had been doing all those previous years,
The problem is it can't grow. It's as big as it's going to get in the USA. It only adds fans if more fans are born (or imported). I suspect the latter half of those two were yet another group they wanted to target. They don't want to be usurped by soccer in their own stronghold.

I think you take too much for granted. Just because something has been a way for a long time doesn't mean it will always be that way. Grow or die.

So you really think unless the NFL expands it's fanbase to foreign countries it was going to die off, you can;t be serious.

If the league never ever played outside the USA and didn't give a fuck about the WORLD it would continue to be the massive success it has been.

How long has the CFL been around, hmmmm?

I am serious. You are thinking in the short term. I don't necessarily think the NFL is thinking in the long term, they're thinking about money, but in this case, there may be some coincidental parallelism between the two. One shouldn't take things for granted. If there's one wisdom I've gained by my middle age it's how blindingly fast things I thought were entrenched in culture & the world order can evaporate.

I don't understand why you're so offended by a halftime show that was intended to grow football's audience. Again, I don't give a shit about halftime shows, myself. Halftime is for refreshment. The show is for the girls and the gays.

If you think the NFL does anything because of girls and gays, no need to waste my time,

See ya~~~~

It's just the truth. Those are the demographics they target with the halftime show to broaden the overall spectacle's appeal.

It's for the girls, the gays, and the kids. Now they're broadening that to the international market.

Well, except that Brazilians care less about Bad Bunny than even most English-speaking countries. He is less popular there than he is in most of the rest the world. If the notion is that the NFL chose Bad Bunny to appeal to the Brazilian market it appears to be without basis. He's not particularly popular there. You wanted to play the anal retentive nitpicker to me being cheeky about the fact Brazilians don't particularly care about Puerto Rico or other Spanish-speaking cultures. They have a culture entirely their own. So I'm cutting to the chase.

Not that any of this shit matters. The halftime show is for the girls and the gays, who gives a fuck who plays.

My experience is limited, but most Brazilian dudes I know are metalheads...I'm sure that's because im a metal head and it's in my bubble...

NFL honchos.....ok so how about the halftime show, any ideas?
honcho.......need something for the gays
honcho 2....and girls
NFL honcho....yep, you got it, and.....Germany.

Why do I seriously doubt that?

He's probably more popular there that whoever the fuck was playing at that TPUSA halftime show that's for sure

That's the topic of the thread, buddy.

The halftime show is for the girls and the gays, who gives a fuck who plays.

The conservatives who are raging over a fucking halftime show. I mean, Megyn Kelly was throwing a tantrum at Piers Morgan's show over it to the point she made Piers Morgan look sane. The fact that they made an alternative halftime show speaks volumes

i got into it in the late 50;s, it was almost 40 years old then, they don't need Spain, France, Bad fucking Bunny.

I live in central Cali, know a lot of Mexicans, have yet to hear any of them who liked Bad Bunny, pretty much......he sucked.

It means your demographic isn't worth it anymore. Your wallets don't hold much weight nowadays. The NFL is trying to bring in younger fans, cause, you know, to survive?

You're citing a response to his halftime show in Brazil, not a history of popularity. None of your AI response provides figures demonstrating his uptick in popularity across other nations around the world, which would be expected given the platform the Super Bowl afforded him, in addition to all the juicy controversy, nor where that uptick places the strength of his popularity within the country respective to other countries (since his historic lack of popularity there means a small uptick will yield a much larger percentage of growth as his previous popularity was so low).

He's the #1 most popular artist in the world right now, and had been for months before the Super Bowl even announced him as its headliner. So him selling out a concert isn't impressive.

I don't speak or understand much Spanish but I listen to Latin music ( Becky G, Karol G, and Shakira). The only Bad Bunny song I know is Mayores that he did with Becky G.

I enjoyed Bad Bunny's halftime show. I thought it was better than the Kid Rock one which I watched on YouTube. Other than Gabby Barrett, I thought it was pretty lame.

IMO, Prince had the best halftime show of all time.

Let me explain something.

Not so much about............what did he say...??? as it is the total disrespect the NFL had for us fans, it was a total, fuck you.

A half hour of Tiny Tim, Opera, Bach, Blind Boys of Alabama, beats the fuck out of really Bad Bunny.

They need to get Becky G out there shaking that little groove thang of hers, ole Pete aint watched an NFL show in decades but I would tune in for that! 😍

Not buying it, if the NFL never did anything to bring the game to the world they;d be just fine as is.

Look at the popularity of college football, they do just fine never doing shit for some foreign anything,

Oh blah blah blah, spare me the thesis.

NFL wants more fans, NFL wants to go global, NFL hires a guy that kids these days listen to.

The 2 largest markets outside the US for handegg are Latin American countries, NFL hires Latin American performer, Latin Americans pay attention, Goodell sees $$$$

Countryside yokels complain because it ain't about them no more, hilarity ensues.

It's not a thesis.

Bad Bunny's uptick in the US on Spotify, for example, has surged 470% in the USA since the Super Bowl. So it has surged less in Brazil at 426% where he was already less popular.

Maybe don't let the computers think for you. And, just a friendly tip, hesitate to quaff whatever Kool-Aid The Guardian is serving up.
