Bad Bunny

My mother in law who was raised in Puerto Rico and speaks fluent Spanish said she couldn’t understand a fucking word this cat was singing. The only time things made sense was when Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin were singing.

She said bro sounds like he’s having a diabetic seizure.

I figure it would annoy people that only speak one language I happen to be bilingual. I don't understand Rammstein because they speak german but I love their music.

How many commercials did we see in Spanish, this wasn't a Spanish speaking event, so..................?????

Definitely don’t want to accidentally have to watch or hear that fool again. That was yucky last night

So I actually watched the show. He has the mic inside his mouth or at least his lips are encircling it most of the time. No wonder he sounds mumbly. Saying a native Spanish speaker cannot understand him is a huge overstatement, even I did understand some and my Spanish is beginner level at best.
Overall that's pretty average articulation for 2026, thanks, mumble rap! Ricky Martin and Gaga sounded incomparably better, of course.

My overall thoughts:
1) Whole show seemed inappropriate for Super Bowl. The show was 100% focused on Latino culture and hand-egg is not a Latino favorite sport. Also, all of it being in Spanish is just weird. Should have used this show for Copa de Libertadores opening or something.
2) The show itself was well produced and performed. Scenography, performance and dancing were on point. Filming was very good. People performing the dances were actually good looking and could dance.
3) Bad Bunny is not a bad reggaeton singer. I despise the genre as a whole, but it's not like Bad Bunny is incompetent in particular. He is no worse (and maybe better) than Daddy Yankee or other popular artists in the genre.

Bottom line in this Bad Bunny thing was this.....

This was an American event our official language is English that is why all the commercias are in English..

Common sense is you wanat the audience to be entertained how is that possible if you can't understand the entertainer?

The NFL fucked up and we all know it.

Here ya go some great entertainment

Didn't watch the game. Went to the gym. No cans anywhere. It was absolutely glorious.

I still have no idea who Bad Bunny is. I did hear Charlie Dork's organization countered with Kid Rock. Lmao.

I don't know? He's not my thing, but he's big for some reason. The performance was "whatever". I don't care, and I hope that his fans enjoyed it. However, having the Super Bowl in San Francisco, and not having Metallica play was a major miss. Also, it's still crazy that they play AC/DC constantly during football games (on any level), and they never played it either.
It's always been a curious misstep for the NFL, to not have a halftime show reflect the general aggressive vibe of the sport. I swear, I've been saying "Why not AC/DC or Metallica?" since I was a kid. It's a no brainer. Instead we usually get shit like Coldplay and Lady Gaga, or last night's Cuban street music. Like, what?

Goat halftime show. Bar I was at had all the La 5s dancing. Lmao at all the old racists itt who think anyone under 50 wants to hear some dinosaurs like Guns N’ Roses out there.

The NFL knows who their target audience is, they know who watchs NFL football, that is what surprised me about this.

How many commercials were geared towards Spanish speaking fans? How many Spanish speaking players and coachs and announcers?

The whole thing was totally stupid.

Do any men listen to Bad Bunny? I had never heard any of his music but my wife had him playing on the TV when I went inside yesterday and I just can't imagine men listening to that type of music. It was very feminine to say the least.

I think we've all learned that women will listen to anything, no matter how shitty it is. Whatever music young women listen to will always be the most popular music in the world because they are the largest consumer of it and they rarely stray from whatever is deemed popular at the moment.

For years now the NFL has pretty much had the game marketed towards men and the superbowl halftime show marketed towards women. They want all eyes on the game and this is how they get it.

I think that’s the thing: football is a male dominated sport but the Super Bowl is watched by everyone (especially women) so you want to placate those viewers.

Bad Bunny definitely seems to be more feminine geared music wise, but so is Usher. However, I know a lot of dudes who listen to Usher though not so much Bad Bunny.

I know a few men of Latin descent and they all weren’t fans of Bad Bunny for the reason I just mentioned. Their wives and girlfriends tend to love him so they just go along with it.

Don’t hate Bunny at all. Not a fan of his music but I am of his Latina dancers

The people wondering why Metallica or some other old band weren't chosen to perform need to realize that they are already Football fans and won't stop watching Football because they couldn't relate to the guy singing at the halftime show. You've bought in, the NFL doesn't need to do much to keep you watching games. Sports organizations want young people to watch and care so they can keep making money in the future. Many of you will be dead in 30 - 40 years. Gen Z kids will be in theirs 50s or 60s, and for the NFL, hopefully still watching and buying stuff as they market the product to whatever the kids of the future like. Look at how NASCAR has marketed to young people so hard to the chagrin of their established, older fanbase. Look at how the UFC is obsessed with social media and creating WWE-esque moments that can be squeezed onto Tik Toks to get the casuals and the kids interested. It's not rocket science

Despite being born and raised in central California the ag capitol of the world, I can't speak Spanish, sure a few words but thats it***

What is the NFL thinking by having Bad Bunny doing the half time show?

I know......why isn't this down in the music forum, well, obviously it's not really about music if it were then Bad Bunny ism't involved.

Hell, I listen to Peanut the Kidnapper, Cedar Creek Shiek, BEHEMOTH, Talula Tarantuala, Godsmack, but I understand the words.

My first thought was fuck this bullsht won't be watching, then the guy.....ICE OUT....at the Grammy's now I have to watch to see what happens which sucks.

i know he was kinda a pro rassler, sorta.

Will you be watching?

**** would pick fruit a a kid that's where I learned a little of the lingo.
Believe me other Spanish speakers cannot understand Puerto Ricans or Dominicans when they speak. Album of the year (for political not artistic reasons) but he’s still trash tbh. Maybe the gen z kids like him, but I don’t get it.

Why would the NFL think their fan base wants Bad Bunny for entertainment, I did think they were smarter than that.

Probably the second dumbest thing they have done, the first being that ridiculous new kickoff.

The NFL wants the international audience. I think I heard an announcement last night that this upcoming season will have more international games than previous years. They have the US audience on lockdown. No need to appeal beyond the game itself. Now they want the international market which will mean non-english speaking fans.

And as far as that goes, as a music fan, more so than a sports fan, I don't care if I can understand the lyrics or not as long as the song sounds good. Would you be having this same level of meltdown had it been Santana singing Oye Como Va?

The world is shit atm. TPUSA fucking bombed it IMO. I like Kid and watching him do Baw was infuriating. Just do it man wtf is up with the milly vanilly bs. That shit hurt my heart. And fuck BB too.

So why so much chatter about this Bad Bunny choice, it's on the news, youtube, sports talk tv, on all these football talk forums, and most of it is negative.

Ok the NFL wants to expand into other markets, do they really go about it like that?

So next year it's German speaking then French then...

And I love...Black Magic Woman....have never heard Oye Como Va simply because it does't interest me.

I thought you said no one was gonna be talking about Bad Bunny after this was over, yet here you are, still whining about it

I guess the NFL knows what theyre doing after all

I love music. my home library would rival a radio station, dead serious.

My first love is them old prewar blues pre 1940, I get that old stuff isn't for most so I don't push it, obviously the kids have never heard of it.

I get that is the world I live in, the NFL really thought us American football fans really want ....................Bad Bunny........how about some common sense?
