You wanted to know if they were different and yes they're different. Why is the comic this, but the movie that? It's because they're different. I'm not sure why you're being so sensitive.
It's because i asked a question to understand what was going on & you came at me with these numbers & no real information that would make any sense to someone who didn't know what you were talking about.

On the real... how would anyone who asked whether the Marvel Comic line followed the movie be able to make sense out of your response?

The comics are universe 616, the mcu is universe 199999

What the hell is anyone supposed to take from this? To me it seemed like you strutting your knowledge of things while trying to keep me confused so that you could play with me a bit. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Not that you you've seen the entire story yet & have any idea what the consequences or context that those relationships will have. What's say we give the story a chance to play out before we decide what is & isn't a valid addition to the story. yeah?

I don't need to let a story play out over a decades worth of movies to determine that it was poorly implemented in a movie from 3 years ago. Future movies do not impact the quality of previous movies.

I'm pretty sure the consensus here for Age of Ultron is that it was bland and the romance was a weak spot. That isn't going to change even if they manage to make it interesting in future movies.

The comics are the source material for the movies, just like A Song of Ice and Fire is to Game of Thrones, and Tolkien's Lord of the Rings is to Peter Jackson's films, etc.
except with even more creative freedom for the makers than either of those 2

Here's the original (616) Nick Fury next to the Ultimate version (modeled after Sam Jackson):

However, I believe the 616 now has it where there's a Black Nick Fury who is the son of White Nick Fury. And why there isn't a comic called WHITE FURY BLACK FURY yet I will never know. Oh wait, yeah I do.

that'll be a short discussion lol
What is this you've presented into this discussion about a "Real Man's" weapon... A child's toy?

I will argue that the child's toy could be called Stormbreaker... but the real weapon is clearly more accurately called "Groot Axe." :D

you're just trying to be vague or showing off your background knowledge while trying to baffle someone who is asking a legit question. Do you feel smart now or something? If you can't explain it with real language then you don't understand it yourself imo.

Thank you for attempting to explain this... & I appreciate that... however, I still don't understand.

What is the difference between "multiple different universes"... & "The MCU Universe." Are you basically saying that the movies & the comics are different stories that don't have to match up.

Alternative realities is a better term.
In one universe the Hulk might not exist, Uncle Ben may be alive, Thanos is a good guy, etc. Infinite realities.
Doctor Strange looked at 14,000,000 realities to see if they could beat Thanos. "MCU" is one reality. "616", the main universe for the comics is another.

Well that's what I thought... & that's why I picked your particular response to ask the question, because you kind of submitted to the fact that something happened in the comic, & so that has some meaning in the movie. So I got a little confused with that particular response. I guess you were just having a bit of fun... so all good.
Just so that you won't be confused. Here is D3throned's original post where he alluded to Adam Warlock as being an Avenger in the comics. I just corrected him that Adam Warlock was never an Avenger in the comics. Hope this clarifies it for you.

How the fuck are they going to include Adam warlock in all this? Captain marvel isn’t capable alone. Adam warlock is badass and probably the most important/powerful avenger, especially against thanos.

Your first problem is you think "I came at you." Don't assume offense and then rant about. If you wanted to know what the numbers mean just respond "What do the numbers mean?" 616 is the comics line. 19999 is the movies. They're treated as different things.

@Myrddin Wild

Just accept my explanation better because it's less confusing - The comics and the movies are different. Whatever happened in the comics may not happen in the movies.

the mcu universe is one of the multiple universes of Marvel. the different numbers are just an easier way of knowing which universe a comic is set in

the MCU takes inspiration from multiple universes. but its mostly from 616(because thats the main Marvel universe)
Perfect explanation bro... & Brother Dragon's... thank you

... & thank you to the others who added to my question. I honestly didn't know.

So of all the universes... would you say that the MCU is considered the main one? or is there perhaps an agument to be made that one of the other numbered universes has a stronger claim to what is the "main universe."

nope, I'll always consider 616 the main one. the MCU is its own thing

The "main one" will always be the 616 as long as the comics are still running. Everything else is a derivation of the 616.

However, the word "canon" doesn't really come into play here because canon will coalesce several universes.
