i get Thanos's motives, both from here and the Comic (where he did to gain the attention/love of Mistress Death, as more people were alive at the time than had ever died in history due to population growth).....

What I don't get is like 'no foresight/planning regarding the elimination of half the population?' Tons of different planets/races/cultures many of which provide positive benefits while many are warlike and detrimental to other's survival.....

like let's use Earth for example, does it make sense to eliminate half Wakanda and half of say Central African Republic? why not all of CAR and let the more advanced Wakanda be spared, since his whole goal is to stem overpopulation (and presumably pollution, lack of natural resources, etc...) and ish like that?

or like get the time stone, and meditate like Dr Strange did to find the best possible outcome for purging half of the world.....anything. Bueller?

This was actually pretty good. Funnily it captures the feel of the original Star Wars movies better than any of the new SW movies imo.

It could have been shorter and Thanos probably should have picked up a few of those stones in previous movies, but overall it was very ambitious and entertaining. Groot dying got me even if it's pretty obvious they're going to turn back time at the end of the next movie and bring everyone back.

I think they want to build is comeback for Avengers 4 so that when Banner eventually transform into the Hulk again people will be like "Yes finally !!". It's a classical ploy to hype and make people anticipate a character return.
My new theory is that Marvel turned Hulk into a jobber because he agreed to sign with DC...

Kinda salty that both Cap and Stark are still alive, but other than that, it might be the best thing Marvel has put out.

I was worried about Thanos being horribly nerfed but good lord, they nailed it.

Im not a fanboy...The battles were crap.

There was no massive scale at all.

Then all other battles, were essentially Group of Avengers vs Thanos.

I thought it was gonna be a massive fucking war.

There's a reason Thanos didn't go too deep into his plan. It's a ridiculously awful plan that wouldn't fix anything but just delay all those planets getting back to the same problem again.

hey guys, I've never watched any of these super hero movies. What movies should I watch so that I understand this one?

Thanos himself has respect for individuals and spares them accordingly, but his overall philosophy on halving the population was about dispassionate randomness as to be fair. He explains this on Titan, about Titan, for Titan, starring Titan (as Titan) produced by Titan feat. Drake.

I would laugh like hell if there was one planet that was razed by Thanos that had the other half of the population wiped out.

It's not really that big a plot hole; it takes everything Thanos has to wipe out half the lifeforms in the universe. The Infinity Gauntlet is fried in doing so. It would take even more power to double the resources in the universe. And it would run the risk of life increasing exponentially with greater resources, until these resources were consumed as well.

Killing half the universe is an easier goal to focus on and bring about.
He could have created a new universe for the other half. Or he could have reengineered all species to breed at reduced rates. Or doubled resources. Or, or, or...

It's easier to destroy than it is to create. Such a fundamental rule, yet people forget about it. Derp.

they could totally give Banner control over Hulk, perhaps once he gets him to come out they have a different rapport?

for Secret Wars storyline, it was the intelligent Hulk that actually explained to them how to use many of the alien machines, like the one that gave Peter parker the Symbiotic costume that became Venom

Plus if tony stark dies, they need another intelligent scientist type guy which could be played by Black panther's sister or Reed Richards if they bring him in, or it could just be grey/intelligent Hulk

He specifically said he didn’t want people getting special treatment. Just a random lottery everyone is equal.

I realize that, I said I 'don't get it'

given his motives, it's makes absolutely zero sense to 86 half of the population of say Iceland AND India......

Are you being serious? lul

Karen Gillan is very pretty so not a bad choice at all, just funny considering she doesn't really get to show off her looks in the movies, unless you're into bald blue robot chicks.

Haven't seen Jumanji? She showed off quite a bit there.

I still think Scarlet Witch is by far the hottest though.
