Its a branch holding together one of the greatest weapons in the universe.
You gotta think, the weapon itself is magic. Like Mjolnir, the handle is made of wood... but doesn't get roasted when channeling tons of lightning. I mean, Thor has been carrying himself off the ground at great speed for ages by clinging to the little leather loop on the end of his hammer.
It's magic, dude. Shit is always gonna be weird.

That little rabbit has been such a favorite character of mine since guardians 1.
Hes definitely my favorite character in the whole MCU
I still dont understand how the whole country fell in love with that stupid tree when Rocket is clearly the star of the show

Mjolnir's handle isn't made of wood. It was part of the magical forging process. The reason the handle is small is because Loki interfered with the weapons forging, otherwise it would have been a war hammer like Robert Baratheon's

Ehhhhh there's definitely wood there, at least in the MCU. Definitely looks that way to me. It's not just a metal bar or whatever.
My point is that this is a magic weapon. presumably that magic extends to the handle.

Also, the CGI for Proxima was trash.

When you watch it again, pay close attention to the CGI of Banner's head in the Hulkbuster. It will make Proxima look better in comparison.

I will say the CGI overall was damn good, so no major complaints there.

Yea Banners head looked like a terrible photoshop

Not wood. Its wrapped in brown leather, which may give the illusion of wood, but its not wood.

Well leather is even less durable than wood, so that not burning up via lightning or the bodies of the many things it has passed through makes my case even more imo.
But again, my point is that the magic nature of the weapon probably just extends to the handle.

Anything with Iron man or the Iron Man suit looks bad in this movie

Check out Tony's head when they are on Titan

All the other CGI besides Iron man was good though

I involuntarily clapped when he showed up on screen, and i'm pretty sure that's the only time i've ever clapped in a movie my entire life.
my wife has seen every marvel movie and was like, "who's that?"...
<{hfved}>

the beard and lack of red/white/ blue threw her for a loop i guess

"I see you have copied my beard"

Thor was GOAT tier in this movie

You can rewrap a handle in leather. You can't replace the handle altogether. the Groot aspect of the hammer is still lame, but I agree the work around has to be magic.

I can imagine cutting room floor/gag reel of Hemsworth doing a Chris Pratt impersonation on ship when starlord is doing his Thor impersonation

They need a movie where Thor just hangs out with the Guardians for 2 hours

They work very well together and I thought it was one of the highlights of the film

Did she say it slowly and with one eyebrow suggestively raised?

Oh my God, you mean the hammer pulled him off?:)
