That's actually closer to the truth than you might think. A journalist who interviewed RDJ on the Age of Ultron set said he was shown to a fenced off compound with four or five huge trailers. He naturally assumed these were for the stars. Turns out they all belonged to RDJ and his personal staff.

Thanos Creator Was Paid More for BATMAN V SUPERMAN Than All Marvel Movies Combined

How much is a cosmic dictator worth? According to Jim Starlin, who created Thanos, the character at the center of plans for Marvel Studios' upcoming Avengers: Infinity War, the answer is "less than a minor heavy in Gotham City." Or perhaps the exchange rate is just heavily in DC's favor right now.

"Just received a very big check from DC Entertainment for my participation in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice (Anatoli Knyazev)," Starlin wrote on Facebook Tuesday morning, adding that the amount was "much bigger than anything I've gotten for Thanos, Gamora and Drax showing up in any of the various Marvel movies they appeared in, combined."

What makes this particularly surprising is that Anatoli Knyazev is a relatively minor figure at best in the movie; it's possible that many viewers would have no idea who he was at all. (For the record, he's the Russian warlord who kidnaps Lois in the beginning of the movie and later repeats that trick by kidnapping Martha Wayne. The character on-screen bears little similarity to the Starlin-created character, who — in DC's comic mythology — is better known by his nom-de-plume, the K.G.Beast.

Last year, Starlin told Heat Vision that he had renegotiated his deal with Marvel over its usage of Thanos, ahead of the character's on-screen debut in 2012's The Avengers.

"I'd like to have had a bigger piece of Thanos than I do, but when the first Avengers movie came out, Marvel and I — we renegotiated some things, so I get a taste out of this thing," he said. "I'm not becoming the next Bill Gates, but I'm getting a little something out of it."

As a HUGE Infinity Gauntlet/War/Crusade Jim Starlin fan, I can tell you the following:

1. It was not an Avengers story in the comics. It was a story that sprouted out of a two double-sized issue mini-series called Thanos Quest by Jim Starlin. It was then preluded in volume 3 of Silver Surfer, written also by Jim Starlin. The main series was a mini-series not part of any specific ongoing run, but supported by tie-ins in Silver Surfer and many other ongoing titles.

2. The GOTG had zero involvement.

3. The main protagonists are Adam Warlock and Silver Surfer, supported by members of the Avengers, X-Men, etc.

4. Thanos is much more than a cackling villain. By the ending you feel something like sympathy for him, or at least recognize that he has way more depth of character than most comic book villains.

5. Another crossover event, titled "Infinity War" came after Infinity Gauntlet. This series will in no way, shape or form reflect what is going to show up on screen. On screen will be an adaptation of "Gauntlet".

that is why i wish that Marvel/Disney had the rights to Silver Surfer. He was such an integral part to the storyline. They seriously need to get the rights back ASAP

4. He does more begging than cackling. Please love ME!!!

And since no better place to toss this, the updated comic book movie chart.

As I said before, Thanos is Ser Jorah with Cosmic-level Superpowers. Mistress Death is the ultimate prick-teaser:)

High expectations they better deliver they been teasing Thanos for a decade.

Saw these. Loved them. Couldn't post them.

I can't even fathom the work going into this movie.
