Rumor: HAWKEYE TV Series Starring Jeremy Renner Possibly Being Discussed

Captain-America-Civil-War-Hawkeye-051716-Dragonlord.jpg

With Marvel cancelling Agent Carter’s third season and not picking up Marvel’s Most Wanted, some fans were left a little disappointed when it came to Marvel’s television sector. However, according to a new rumor, we could be seeing a new series down the line involving a certain arrow-shooting Avenger.

During a conversation on Heroic Hollywood’s Heroic Insider podcast, host Umberto Gonzales, Devin Faraci and Daniel Alter discussed the rumoured possibility of a Black Widow solo movie (she tops a Fandango poll for a solo film with 48% of a total vote), with Gonzales mentioning a Hawkeye solo series:

"There was a pitch document - might be a little bit of a scoop here - uh for, I think you [Devin] might have heard this as well, for Hawkeye to have like a series... and I think Black Widow was included in that list as well."

Rumor: Hawkeye Solo Series Being Planned for Television

Had an idea for this movie's credits during the Thor 2 credits (on the Phase 2 box set) with the painted character shots and was reminded during the Civil War credits with each characters symbols (created by Lex Luthor no doubt)...

I was thinking for the Infinity movies they'd have each movie character doing some action pose and in a semi-circle around them you'd have different versions of the character done by top comic artists. One version to the left, one diagonal up to the left, one right above, then diagonal right and finally to the right. So I made a big list of my favorite artists and which characters they'd do. Here are the top 6 characters on the list (full list has each Marvel character in movies and TV), I limited each artist to 5 characters (or character groups) so I didn't just use my favorite artists for everyone. If anyone has an artist that I didn't think of, make a note.

Iron Man & War Machine: David Marquez, Bryan Hitch, Steve McNiven, Adi Granov & Greg Land
Cap America, Falcon & Bucky: Steve Epting, Steve McNiven, Alex Ross, Mike Dedato Jr & John Cassaday
Thor & Loki: Esad Ribic, Walt Simonson, Bryan Hitch, Simone Bianchi & Leinil Yu
Hulk: Esad Ribic, Frank Cho, Dale Keown, Mark Bagley & David Finch
Black Widow: Phil Noto, Gabriele Dell'alto, Adi Granov, Frank Cho & Greg Land
Hawkeye: David Finch, Esad Ribic, David Aja, Bryan Hitch & Stuart Immonen

For Thor, you're forgetting one of the top Thor pencillers and one of the greatest comic book artists today - Olivier Coipel.

Oh I didn't forget him (he did issue 0 for Civil War 2 that came out yesterday and I thought it was some of his best work). It was Yu, Cheung and Coipel vying for the final spot but I already had Coipel set for 5 characters (Scarlet Witch, Vision, Ant-Man & Wasp, Spider-Man, Quake) so that cleared one and it was the epic Thor moment in Infinity for Yu over Cheung's Thor moment in Infinity that won out.

Still haven't decided what versions of the character each would do. Probably have Young Thor with Jarnbjorn for Ribic, Rune King Thor for Simonson, Ultimate Thor for Hitch, Modern Day Thor for Bianchi and Old King Thor for Yu.

Joss Whedon Wants to Direct a Marvel Female Superhero Movie

Joss-Whedon-Female-Avengers-A-Force-Dragonlord.jpg

Asked whether he’d be into directing a female-driven Avengers franchise, Joss Whedon told TheWrap, “Yeah, of course. Although I tend more towards the Jessica Jones-ey kind of stories than the delightful Supergirl stories that my daughter wants.”

He won’t be directing “Captain Marvel,” the first movie centered on a female superhero to come out of the comic-book brand’s cinematic universe — set to hit theaters in 2019. But, Whedon told us, he’s glad to see a woman leading a superhero movie in the MCU. (The role is yet to be cast.)

Whedon gave full credit to Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige for even placing a Captain Marvel movie into development. “Kevin Feige fought a mighty fight to get her on the schedule. So it’s a start. You could say that should be a middle, but it’s a start,” said Whedon, directing his comments at Hollywood as a whole and not Marvel specifically.

It's a small Tumblr thing I think. Doesn't make any sense either considering he was interested in Peggy and kissed what's her name in Civil War. Really dumb.

It's weird. Instead of trying to get a new gay superhero created, they are trying to guilt people into making Cap gay even though Cap has had heterosexual relationships in the comics already.

Probably best to keep that in the WR thread on that exact topic.

Joe Quesada Reiterates Namor Movie Rights Back with Marvel Studios

Marvel-Studios-Namor-Sub-Mariner-2-Dragonlord.jpg

On the latest Fat Man on Batman podcast, Marvel's Chief Creative Officer Joe Quesada reassured fans that the Atlantean King himself Namor is back at Marvel Studios.

At least, to the best of his knowledge. When hosts Kevin Smith and Marc Bernardin inquired about the whereabouts of the Sub Mariner and who has him, he said: "We do, he's in the comics." Smith then said: "no, what studio. How come you guys aren't diving into the water. Do the same people who have Iron Man have Sub Mariner?"

Quesada responded: "Yes, as far as I know yes we do. Yeah, it's not at Fox, it's not at Sony."

Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has said in the past that if anyone was going to make a Namor film it would be them but did admit it was a little complicated.

“Yes, but it’s slightly more complicated than that,” Feige explained back in 2014. “Let’s put it this way – there are entanglements that make it less easy. There are older contracts that still involve other parties that mean we need to work things out before we move forward on it. As opposed to an Iron Man or any of the Avengers or any of the other Marvel characters where we could just put them in.”

Alan Silvestri Returns to Score AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR

Alan-Silvestri-Avengers-Infinity-War-Dragonlord.jpg

Alan Silvestri, the composer behind Marvel's The Avengers and Captain America: The First Avenger, will return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe to score the next two Avengers films, tentatively titled Infinity War Parts I and II.

The announcement came from Silvestri's official website, although no other information was provided.

Even while he's been gone, Silvestri's music has remained a part of the DNA of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Danny Elfman, who scored Avengers: Age of Ultron, repurposed elements of Silvestri's themes for a number of sequences.

Silvestri's iconic themes for Back to the Future, The Abyss, and Forrest Gump made him one of the most employable composers in Hollywood. He's also no stranger to comic book fare, having scored Judge Dredd, Richie Rich, and RED 2 in addition to his Marvel work.

I know that it's thinking a bit far ahead, but I wonder what they're going to do after all of this is finished?

If they're still doing huge numbers, I can't see them just stopping. However, could they really reboot with new actors?
would be crazy if they rebooted with new actors and a completely different story. like a completely different marvel universe that didnt have anything to do with the first MCU.

So it will be a darker edgier Arrow, I think. Oh wait, Marvel does not do that. I imagine if will have Denis Leary style humor though.

Ultron was so wasted , very underwhelming and although The Russos have been magnificent I hope they pull Thanos and I think it will be important for Gunn to keep establishing Thanos further in GOTG 2

I agree. Ultron was made to be far too weak. Every member of the team fought him 1vs1 and held there own. Makes me think Thanos will be underpowered as well.
