I wonder that too, but I just wanna see one bit where Thanos ROFLstomps the entire group early on, establishing how fucking badass he is.

Y'know, like Ultron should've but DIDN'T in Age of Ultron.

This. So fucking much this. I love the MCU, but there is no getting away from the fact that time and again the Big Bad has been sub-par. The only two stand outs for me are Loki and the Red Skull. I can't see Loki being anything other than an anti-hero in IW, and Red Skull, unforgiveably, won't even appear:(

So the Mad Titan has to bring his A Game. He needs to be seen as the Baddest Motherfucker in the Universe. I want him to spend most of the two movies curb-stomping the Avengers, the Guardians and everyone else who even looks at him funny.

Right on brother...

Thanos should leave the audience mind blown and not your typical michael bay like villain.

He shall have the victory for the first movie and the "holy sh*t moment"

Thanos, if they get anywhere near the level of power he possess in the comics, is almost unbeatable. In fact, most times he defeats himself. Adam Warlock stated that subconciously, Thanos knew he didn't deserve ultimate power and set himself up to lose.

I agree that Thanos needs to bring it but I do not agree at all that the MCU has made any mistake in building the big bad's up as threats over time.

I know I sound like a broken record on this but comic book nerds (myself one of them) seem to think and want the MCU to be an extension of the last comics they read with the big bads and super hero's being at the full power they were last week.

That would be very dumb and a big mistake for the MCU as it might excite hard core fans for a short while but lose the casuals quick. Comics took decades to build most big bads to cosmic level threats and once you get to that level where everyone is cosmic or reality breaking level you have no where else to go but Squirrel Girl. You need a ridiculous character and jokes of story lines because the Super's and Big Bads are all Universe level threats.

It makes far more sense to introduce Ultron and other Big Bads closer to how they were introduced in the comics originally and when they were not such global level or universe threats even though that is what comic book fans want.

He probably will win in the first movie. The first movie needs to end with...

Oh, and Thanos needs to kill Vision in spectacular fashion to get the mind stone.

Thanos, from his first appearance, was always presented as a Cosmic Level threat. We can agree to disagree about Ultron etc, but the Mad Titan has to be absolutely terrifying right out of the gate. This is the culmination of ten years of movies. Everything has been leading up to this.

I'm confused as to what we are agreeing to disagree over? Are you suggesting Ultron never grew into his power over time since his intro in the 60's in the comic Universe?

I want to remind you that even Superman did not fly and seemed to strain to throw a car in the earliest comic book days (and yes I know that is DC, just sayin).

But ya we agree that Thanos needs to bring it.

I'm disagreeing with your position that a Big Bad like Ultron needed to be allowed to grow in strength and potential danger in the MCU as he did in the comics. Ultron was one and done. He wasn't Loki; I sincerely doubt there was ever any real intention to give him a story arc over several movies. He was there to provide an enemy for one film, so they could have skipped the foreplay and just let him bang, bro.

Be that as it may, we both agree Thanos has to fuck shit up on a cosmic scale. I also want to see him operate alone. The Chitauri were low-level cannon fodder. Loki needed them, but Thanos doesn't. I want the Mad Titan to walk through the Avengers and Guardians single-handedly:cool:

No it is not whether Ultron will be back but instead do you, or better yet the MCU want the fans to see the Avengers GROW into their powers.

I see this all the time in every movie that comic book fans want Thor at full strength and every other character from day one in the MCU. That is because comic book fans want the MCU to be an extension of the comics an to pick up where they left off. That would be a terrible mistake. It would get boring quick as it would lose the feeling of real threat if every threat is universal.

There is a reason the comic book genre took off like it did and that is because the action genre has mostly maxed out. You had Dirty Harry beating 2-3 guys with his fists up to John McClain beating 100 simultaneously with a hand gun. Without explaining these guys as Super human the feats they were pulling off was no longer making sense. They were at the top. the MCU is right to not start at the top and to instead build up as they have a 20 year plan for their movies.

So maybe we are speaking to two different things. I think you are speaking to what would have made a better one off movie (and I don't disagree) and I am speaking to the strategy the MCU is employing being the right one for long term success.

AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR Will Reportedly Have a Budget of... One Billion Dollars

Doctor-Evil-Avengers-Infinity-War-Dragonlord.jpg

During a recent luncheon hosted by the African American Film Critics Association, the co-owner of Pinewood Studios gave a small speech. As the studio acts as the home-base for Avengers: Infinity War, plenty were interested to hear what Dan Cathy had to say. It was there that the co-owner said the company’s Atlanta location was now hosting a production with a $1 billion budget. Of course, Cathy was unable to reveal what the project was, but fans can take a good guess.

Currently, the Atlanta location is only hosting one film that could require such a massive budget. Black Panther is still finishing production at the studio, but the standalone is thought to have a budget similar to other solo flicks, leaving it at around $150-250 million max. So far, it seems like Avengers: Infinity War has a truly insane budget on-hand, and it may very well use all of it.

Of course, the $1 billion mark will likely be split between two projects. Avengers: Infinity War will be the first installment of a two-part film as the yet-titled Avengers 4 will follow is a year later. However, if split evenly, the blockbuster would cost about $500 million a piece.

That's freaking huge by a lot.. I think the biggest budget till now was around 300 mill.

Is this because of the many big actors involved all getting big pay checks cause how much shit can you have to cost 500 mill.

So this is expected to have some huge marketing behind it and they are going for 2.5-3 bill at the box office. xD

This budget would make a little bit more sense if they're filming both Avengers 3 & 4 back-to-back and thats the budget for both movies combined. Nevertheless the craft services table on set of this movie had better be amazing for that price.

One of those Pirates of the Caribbean movies has a budget of around 350-410 million.

So inspirational. I hope there are more DVD releases than Ravden in the 90s.
