Guardians of the Galaxy Will Appear in AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR

Guardians-Galaxy-Avengers-Infinity-War-Dragonlord.jpg

Solidifying what most Marvel Cinematic Universe fans believed (and hoped) would be the case, Vin Diesel has confirmed that the Guardians of the Galaxy will be part of the Avengers: Infinity War movies in 2018 and 2019.

With Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 around the corner and production recently wrapping on his xXx: Return of Xander Cage and Fast & Furious 8, Diesel hosted a Facebook for a live chat with his fans to make the statement.

“Next year you’ve got Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 coming and that whole concept started from you all saying ‘when are you gonna be in a Marvel movie?’ And you remember the first picture after that Marvel meeting that I had where I was standing [with] the Avengers thing in the back – some of you can look up that picture…there was this old Avengers copy that was behind me in that picture if you look back on my Facebook page you can find that."

"What’s gonna be surreal is that picture is going to come to pass because now the Guardians will be included in Avengers: Infinity War and that’s incredibly exciting. Incredibly exciting. Incredibly exciting and something that if you were a part of our page you knew before everybody.”

Previously, the Russo Brothers (Captain America: The Winter Soldier & Civil War, as well as the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War) confirmed that Star-Lord would be involved with the film.

This..... is... interesting.

Here's hoping that part 1 is like Thanos Quest with Avengers mixed in and part 2 is the actual Infinity Gauntlet storyline. In the comics theyre treated as two different stories so maybe thats what its alluding to. Ultimately we will know if the renaming is just that if they keep the release dates. No way are they putting out two separate Avengers films one year after the other.

I am so happy the GOTG will team up with the Avengers. The only thing that would make it better is if ALL established/living characters showed up together, both minor and major (i.e. Heimdall, Warriors Three, etc).

As for Squirrel Girl, maybe Marvel can make things right with Edgar Wright and have him do it. That'd be badass.

GOTG will probably just be in one scene lol

I doubt they'll play a major role on any level. If I were to guess they come in on towards the climax to help out. Probably a couple of quick cut scenes throughout the movie explaining that they are aware of Thanos and his plans. Perhaps starlord shows up before the rest and explains why he's there with the guardians

Wow news to me. I'm indifferent about it because Thanos doesn't require an A-list voice to captivate. I'd be happy with a popular voice over actor tbh. Brolin was or is kind of a waste of money.

Russo Brothers Endorses Anna Kendrick to Play Squirrel Girl

Anna-Kendrick-Squirrel-Girl-081916-Dragonlord.jpg

Anna Kendrick recently suggested that she’d make an excellent Squirrel Girl, one of the more obscure superheroes in the Marvel world. That might be a long shot campaign, but she’s already got two powerful boosters on her side: MCU keymasters and directors of the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War Joe and Anthony Russo.

“It would be perfect casting, and we’re huge Anna Kendrick fans,” Joe Russo told Yahoo Movies this week while promoting the upcoming Blu-ray/DVD release of the summer mega-hit Civil War.

The Squirrel Girl idea came up in a recent interview the Pitch Perfect star did with Net-A-Porter. “My brother sent me a Squirrel Girl comic because he thinks I should [play her],” she told the magazine. “I don’t know what Squirrel Girl does other than be half squirrel, but I could be half squirrel!”

Soon afterwards, Kendrick’s Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World director Edgar Wright — the original helmer of Marvel’s Ant-Man — voiced his support on Twitter, writing, ‘Get @AnnaKendrick47 a Squirrel Girl film.’

As exciting as that idea might be, Anthony Russo quickly countered that the brothers have their “hands full trying to tell the story we have with our preexisting characters” in the 2018 supes ensemble Avengers: Infinity War. “Anthony would probably die from exhaustion if we introduced another character,” Joe said before Anthony hinted, “That’s not to say we’re not going to introduce a new character.”

Like, say, Captain Marvel, as has been widely speculated?

“If they ever cast that role, maybe,” Anthony replied, clearly joking. “Do you know if they’ve cast it yet?” The part, of course, has already gone to Room Oscar winner (and Kendrick’s Scott Pilgrim costar) Brie Larson, a casting that was made official during Marvel's panel at San Diego Comic-Con in July. Turning genuine, the co-director added, “That’s one we’re going to have to plead the fifth on.”

Come on, guys. How can you build any dramatic tension in the movie when the Avengers have Squirrel Girl on their side?

Remember the scene in Avengers where Cap deploys the team, ending with him saying, "And Hulk - Smash!"? In this movie his orders will be,

"Hulk, Thor, Tony, Wanda...take five. Squirrel Girl's got this.":)

Sorry but Thor is nowhere near that kind of power level. The Beyonder, Thanos, Galactus and Celestials are in a different tier of power in comparison to Thor, at least 2 tiers above him. Odin is close to or on their level but not Thor unless they we are talking Rune King Thor, but thats an extremely powered up Thor and not the one we see 99% of the time. Even then guys like the Beyonder and Thanos with guantlet are still leagues above him.

Thor gets whooped by the Hulk on a regular basis in the comics. Although Thor usually holds back but still they are similar in power levels with Thor having a slight advantage due to having more abilities.

Never said Thor is as strong as someone as a Beyonder or a celestial, only that those villains are some of the very few that can put Thor in real danger. Warrior madness Thor is ungodly powerful, but even in that state he can't defeat cosmic threats like Galactus. But the level of villain shown in the MCU so far can do absolutely nothing to Thor.

And yeah Hulk can best Thor at times, but its a different story if Thor wasn't friendly w Banner. Hulks strongest there is ya know, but when Thor goes bezerker, he can at least hold his own if Hulk doesn't go all world breaker.

And @Dragonlordxxxxx, not sure if I've posted it or not but thanks a ton for the tag!

..........................more than 2 films. HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

No problem. I've been observing your posts in my other threads and aside from your knowledge, you have this level-headedness and objectivity that I admire and would like to see more from the other posters.

Thank you, I mean that sincerely. I'm a grown man, almost 30, and have no issues asking questions or admitting I may not know as much as someone else in some things (except SEC football or mainstream Marvel stuff, then SingerAuto strongest there is! lol) and don't feel the need to get too worked up over Sherdog posts. I've been here folr years literally, my old account was GodZirra (2009 join iirc) so I know the landscape well lol.

And I never troll, that's for children or people w no ability to discuss things logically.

That's so dumb. Thor should be able whoop Hulk. Especially with Mjolnir handy. But Marvel has made Hulk OP as fuck. Which, is kinda cool in some aspects, but really dumb in others. I wish they'd do one storyline where Hulk is on a rampage and Thor decides to really let him have it and totally embarrasses him.

Its a comic book reset.

What do you do when characters all become God like and unbeatable after you keep leveling and leveling them up? Have them beat by someone basic and human with no real powers to reset the universe so you can build it all up again.

The reason comic book movies took off is because action movies had reached their peek. You could not power up John McClain anymore in DieHard without going supernatural as he was already taking on hundreds of foes. But fans always want more so you go from two fisted Clint Eastwood to uber-John McClaiin over time and then what.

Once Super Man and Wonder Woman and Thor and Hulk and Thanos become Universe breakers what then?... Squirrel girl to beat them all with no real powers, that is what. Its a reset. It is also why I am happy the MSU does not follow and just pick up where the comics left off as you can see there are a ton of comic book fans who want exactly that. Uber Hulk/Thor/Thanos battle with Squirrel girl cleaning everyone out.
