Just got back from watching it with my Son. It was fantastic and every bit as good as I'd hoped it would be. Managed to be eye poppingly exciting while maintaining the usual mcu humour (without over doing it as I felt it was in Ragnarok) and not afraid to go to dark places compared to the previous two avengers movies. Dave Batista's comic timing was great and gave the whole cinema laugh out loud moments. As almost everyone else has said Brolin did an incredible job in giving a cgi villain such gravitas. Would have liked to have seen a little more of the black order and maybe learned a little morw of their characters and abilities. Ebony Maw in particular was excellent.

Really great and fun movie. It was awesome seeing all of these characters together. The wait will be so long for part 2.

I couldn't pull the trigger on giving it a 10, it's a strong 9 though.

Your attention span is why you like these movies

So I'm not surprised

dude all you have to do is put any detail about the movie in spoiler tags, like if I wanted to talk about
the scene where spiderman fades to dust in Tonys arms
etc

i didn't not like it

I just didn't love it

You are getting extremely butthurt over a throw away comment I made where I didn't even say the movie was bad

I figured Loki being of sterner stuff + magic would have been able to do something with it. Pull a knife on a guy who curb stomped Thor, Hulk, and Heimdall, and get deaded, or try and use the cube?

Good point, I think we can only assume he didn’t have the power to use it without some kind of technology attached - otherwise he’d have used it in A1

Well remember in Avengers it took Selvig's genius to come up with the Tech to power the Tesserect to open the dimensional gate, Loki never actually wielded it

Well since this conversation doesn't seem to be heading in a pleasant direction why dont we call it quits here

I liked the movie just fine btw. Nothing to be upset about

Best thing I've gotten from this thread is "Linda Dumb."

Lmao that should totally become a sherdog meme.

Not surprised people are slurping this movie; I'm kinda thinking they were wanting it to be great so much, they've convinced themselves that it was.
I've enjoyed the last few marvel movies I've seen, and this one as well, but at the same time I was mildly disappointed. The humorous parts were actually the best parts of the movie from my perspective. A lot of the action was underwhelming and ham-fisted. The story kept jumping around all over the place, bordering on an incoherent mess if you weren't already familiar with all of the preceding storylines beforehand.

I think it's a solid 8, really hampered by some of the sub-par acting and attempts at "serious" dialogue which fell flat.
The interchanges between iron man and dr strange were excellent; spider man's interjections were also really good in there. The quest with thor and the guardians was also well done. The portion with the disgraced avengers and wakanda felt like a throwaway.

Overall, very good, but didn't quite live up to my expectations.

You already answered your own issue already. This movie is for people who know the characters already. Of course they aren't going to have much character development. That is why this film is amazing. Not many people can pull off balancing this many characters. It is a success for that alone.

The only issues I had with it were
Vision seemed underpowered. He seemed extremely powerful in Age of Ultron but couldn't cope with the Black order members who were scared off by Black Widow Cap and Falcon. I just felt he was then just a bit of a wet blanket for the rest of the movie. I assumed maybe because he seemed to becoming more human maybr he was losing his powers as he gained humanity? Did he also say that Glaive's attack had rendered him unable to phase shift or was that just while he was pierced?
Didn't take away too much from the film but I love Vision. Weirdly though I can't remember how he killed Glaive can anyone refresh my memory?

Converesly Black Widow seemed a bit overpowered for a non powered hero. She was easily holding her own against the super powered Black Order members.
I also felt that Scarlet Witch's (another one of my favourite characters) infinity stone destroying ability was a bit of a deus ex machina potentially. I assumed the infinity stones would be indestructible and although I understand she's very powerful surely it should take more than a superhero to destroy one?
