lol I was talking about the "wooden" line

but Id forgotten about that dialogue... I stand corrected good sir ;)

Groot is one of his followers now so it's okay. A wooden man and a tree, friends in the MCU. Groot traveled all the way to go help Vision even though he didn't have an ear piece. Thor was blowing up ships and Rocket was doing whatever but Groot was right there trying to entangle Thanos because he said hi to Steve Rogers. I should say was one of his followers. Thanks a lot Cap.

Thanos should have killed Cap at the end. He should have used the gauntlet to eradicate the super soldier serum from his body. Cap turns into little Cap and then he rapidly ages 75 years and dies.

All this cap talk got me thinking, hes gonna jump on the grenade in A4, I can feel it.

100 percent. Definitely going to make the sacrifice play. It will be an epic moment and bring on the feels I’m sure.

Only question is whether Tony goes out too or he gets a retirement story angle.

I’d lean toward the latter but could see it going either way and doubt Cap will be the only OG Avenger to die fighting the good fight.

I think Caps ''superpower" was enhanced by getting frozen for 70 years.
I don't think his charismatic personality would have worked so well in the 40s when everyone was a charming gent.
People nowadays miss that and are drawn to it.

So basically what I'm saying is that anyone from ww2 could lead the avengers.

My jaw literally dropped at multiple points in the movie. I was actually briefly taken out of the film several times by idly wondering how the hell they could have pulled this off. Every shot looked exquisite.
agreed; every time marvel drops another film i look forward to the vfx breakdowns on YT.. crazy how they constantly take it to the next level. the visuals that they're capable of nowadays makes the previous iterations of superhero movies feel so bland in comparison.

..........

This gets me nearly as much as spiderman's death.

We're going to see if that's true when Bucky comes back.

Growing up as an 80's and 90's kid, this stuff now seems like sorcery to me. The progress we've made on digital effects in movies AND in games in the last twenty years is just incredible.

Here's a random youtube comment from Groot's death in GOTG1:

"This scene is actually pretty deep. Groot represents the interconnectedness of all things, the freedom from seeing the "self" as a separate entity apart from the rest of the universe. When he says "WE are Groot", he's acknowledging to his team that "You are in me, and I am in you, we are one in the same". Groot is free from the greed, lust, anger, and pride that plague his fellow guardians, he represents compassion and unconditional love, the embodiment of a Bodhisattva"

Im not saying I prefer one way or the other..... Im just saying that the scene made sense given the character that has been portrayed.

you are arguing against points Im not making lol
Wrong.

Your first point I agree with. Fine with you saying it makes sense that way.

But you ALSO SAID it WOULD NOT make sense the other way. If the writers decided to have Quill hold his shit together just long enough for the hero's to accomplish the goal.

I am saying either way could be written to make sense.

If I say WE don't eat peach pits and then I eat peach pits am I rational? I'm not saying Cap is bad, he has his habits.

With you prior but not here. Unless I am missing something.

When a soldier says we don't trade lives (negotiate that way) what he means is that we won't say 'here kill this guy so that guy can live'. But that does not preclude the soldier or even his entire unit laying down their lives to save one of their own or others. That is logically consistent.

exactly why i find the complaints about too much cgi so silly... dude how the fuck else are they gonna pull these crazy scenes off and make it look legitimate?

I remember thinking that a spiderman movie was impossible but I really wanted it to happen.
