ok hows this, do you think Captain America wouldve reacted the way Star Lord did? no. Would Tony Stark if it was Pepper Thanos had killed? theres a good chance he wouldve reacted the same way as Star Lord. My whole point is that Star Lord was chosen by Marvel to take the hit for this movie, but they done it in a way that was consistent with his character.

I mean it if perfectly ok that you like the way the scene played out. It is also ok if he would have preferred a different reaction. That is jsut preference.

And had the writers taken a slightly different tact and had Quill keep it together as SpiderMan and others got of the glove I cannot see any way fans would be saying 'that made no sense. No way Quill does not lose it and attack Thanos and cost the team their chance' which is what you are saying would make no sense.

Of course it could make sense that he holds it together even if you would prefer it the way it was done.

Im not saying I prefer one way or the other..... Im just saying that the scene made sense given the character that has been portrayed.

Different situations? I laid down the conditions and then broke them. I'm eating peach pits and Cap is trading lives!

Tony is a crazy guy with PTSD. He has no friends except for a 16 year old boy.

If I say WE don't trade lives I don't die for you and you don't die for me. We work as a team to win so we can both be alive. Then we don't eat peach pits because they are poison. Unless I'm Peter #2. Then I mess everything up and don't even apologize to Mr. Stark like Peter #1 did.

yeah but as smilin desperado mentioned earlier..... there is a big difference between trying to save your friend and letting him sacrifice his life without a fight.

Cap would rather go out swinging..... his choice was perfectly rational
 
i still can't get over how stupidly good the vfx are... they put in fucking work on this one; comic book pages came to life for real.

The rational choice is "Vision, let's beat this goblin together!" That would be in line with we don't trade lives. Not blow up vision's head which was clearly not what he wanted. Or Cap dying to save Vision which was contradictory to what he said.

Vision got it, so he didn't run like Cap told him and he used the greatest super powers to defeat goblin guy.

Vision was severely injured at that point and was getting manhandled. Thats why people were trying to protect him

You mean trade lives with him. But they're not supposed to do that. Cap said so.

I'm hoping they bring back Luke Skywalker. So he can live on in a superior movie franchise.
