Late to the party, was gonna wait for digital release but don't want to get spoiled, here are my thoughts:

Changing Thanos motivation to kill from the comic book was a good decision. Impressing Lady Death would be a pretty goofy reason for all this. But his reason is pretty dumb, killing people to reduce resource consumption doesn't work in the long term because it only delays the problem if nothing else is addressed, sooner or later population will grow back to where it was. If Thanos truly want to solve the problem, he should have used the gauntlet to create more efficient technology and educating life forms about population control. But then that'd make a really boring movie wouldn't it.

It's pretty obvious Thanos is psychotic and his motivations are based on that

I was a big fan of Kree-Skrull War era Draxx; still more powerful than MCU Draxx (and could fly), but thought uber downz Draxx to be lame.

They current Drax with the Daggers was inspired by making him like Riddick , which means it's lame.

The population in most countries has started and is set to start shrinking soon anyway.

All countries apart from Pakistan and sub-Saharan Africa. Those populations are still growing pretty fast.

Thanos and his henchmen could have solved their problem by going to Africa and handing out condoms.

Legit lost. Well played sir!<Lmaoo><45>

Finally got to see this yesterday. A complete masterpiece every which way imaginable. Writing to pacing, acting, dialogue, cinematography, sets, lighting, fight choreography, humor, drama, epic battle scenes and special effects.

I was completely enraptured and on the edge of my seat from beginning to end. I don't know if I've ever enjoyed a theater experience more in my life. Just masterful.

It's actually inspired by the Annihilation Event crossover. Drax was brutally murdered during a scuffle with the Skrull Paibok. The new smaller Drax was reborn from his corpse, with a focus on stealth and assassination instead of brute strength like he had before.

Does MCU Bucky have super strength with his non metal arm?

Drax is so dissapointing, in terms of his power level, in this franchise.

I really like him as a character but it's sad that he's so weak. He's barely stronger than the actor who plays him.
In the last 2 movies he's done sweet fuck all.

Am I right to say that this guy was designed for the purpose of killing thanos? And that his power gets stronger the closer he gets to thanos?
And that in one comic book he physically rips Thanos' heart out of his chest?

I get that movies and comics are different but the way he's portrayed here he would get his ass kicked by black widow and captain America could probably beat him blindfolded.

One thing that isn't always spelled out exactly in the movies, is what makes Drax and Gamora so dangerous is they have what are essentially magic weapons, and they're trained assassins with superhuman stats. Their blades, combined with their superhuman strength, are actually capable of hurting or even killing Thanos. That's why he specifically mentioned that Nebula and Gamora could actually hurt or kill him under the right circumstances (element of surprise)

Unfortunately for the heroes Thanos is a genius in addition to basically being a god, so he had traps prepared for them.

Bucky has the same super soldier serum that cap does, so they're on an even playing field stats wise. Then bucky has the arm and cap the shield, both made of vibranium.

I watched the movie on second day after Russian premiere - we had it running from 3rd of may.
I liked it, it had its weaker and illogical moments, but hey, that's a superhero movie, and a very good one at that.
Unlike @Dragonlordxxxxx I liked that Hulk vs Thanos fight was short. The way Hulk tried to smash him opposed by measured and efficient moves by Thanos. Loved how he handed Hulk's ass to him with a couple knees and counters.
Was sad that Loki didn't get to at least try to use his magic...again. Went out on his shield but damn, that puny dagger...
Shitty that they killed him off like that.
Thanos is a psychopath and his logic is deeply flawed, but I liked the character, he's menacing and rather deep.
OP Thor is OP. Hope he gets a big part in next one. Fate of few remaining Asgardians is a big question, would want to see this adressed in next movies.
I liked Spiderman and Dr. Strange, wonder why he willingly gave time stone to Thanos. Guess it has to do with that one scenario he seen where heroes win.
Loved Ebony Maw - he's so unpleasant, a strong character, liked him more than the rest of the Black Order... Wonder if he's dead for good or not.
Drax's jokes are the best, and most of Guardians moments were good, but Guardians apart from Rocket did not do much... Except that Star Lord is a dick.
Vision was unusually weak in this movie, wonder if they rebuild him.
Cap's team part was the more bland part of the movie, but still ok.
First time I seen Black Panther characters, and I did not like Wakandans' gear. vibranium laser-firing spear is still a damn spear, they coul do better. Like, say, tanks, flyers and stuff. Also I strongly dislike that Shuri girl - she's weird AF.
The battle in Wakanda was rather epic overall, especially when Thor came and started fucking bad guys up left and right.

TL DR: Was a great and entertaining flick. Thor finally is a God of Thunder instead of a buff dude with a hammer. RIP Loki, we loved you. Waiting for Avengers 4.

Yeah but the character design for the newer Drax is inspired by Riddick because it fits the description of stealth and assassination .

Its not the same, its a reverse engineered version that isn't quite as good.

Yeah but the character design for the newer Drax is inspired by Riddick because it fits the description of stealth and assassination .

The first Riddick movie came out in 2004. The Drax change did not happen until somewhere between 2007-2008, and was part of a radical series of changes in Marvel's cosmic setting. Including upgrading Annihilus to a cosmic level threat, killing off Quasar and replacing him with a new female Quasar, upgrading B tier hero Nova to a cosmic level hero, killing off the entire rest of the nova corps, rebooting Drax, adding new Galactus level beings, and forming an entirely new GOTG to replace the older version form the early 90s. and that, with some small changes, is the roster we have in these GOTG movies.

Basically the Drax change was part of a sweeping series of changes, reboots, and huge crossover events that ran roughly from 2006-2011, and involved the entire marvel universe. It really didn't have anything in the slightest to do with Riddick tbh.

The way the films portray Drax I'd say isn't less powerful than someone like Widow but simply very rash, rushing into confrontations with incredibly powerful enemies head on and getting his ass kicked as a result.

You can see when he does fight smarter he's effective against Thanos on Titan helping to get him down.
