Captain Marvel is playing a huge part in Avengers 4. That's what Marvel has said, and it's been shown (post credit scene).

Visuals are important to me. If Cap wore that lame Avengers 1 spandex outfit in The Winter Soldier, it would have taken me out of the movie.

I didn't read any IW spoilers before the movie came out, just rumors and speculation. Much like I am doing with this movie. Everything I read about IW had me hyped. The only thing that concerned me was how tired Joe Russo looked when being interviewed. Gave me Josh Whedon vibes.

I don't want to dislike this movie. I love Infinity War. It's not perfect, but it's one of my favorite MCU movies. My only major gripe with the movie is that the Wakanda battle is mainly meelee combat when we were shown battleships in Black Panther. In general....besides having a powerful barrier, it felt like the Wakandans were no better than any modern day marine team. It would have been nice to see some more Wakanda tech being used to show why they are the biggest threat to alien invasions....other than the barrier which was more to prevent outside nations from entering in.

If the movie turns out great...I will be ecstatic. But with the way IW ended....there must be a lot of time travel shenanigans in there....or just weird shit in general, which makes me feel a bit wary. I'm sure I'm not alone on this. The story of IW was pretty straightforward....this one....feels like it will be a LOT more....shall I say...weird?

She's playing a huge part but I guarantee you it will be no different than any other Avenger movie. It will be like all the other avenger movies everyone getting a decent amount of screen time and going their part to take down Thanos.

I can guarantee there will be some weird shit happening in this movie especially with the ending of Ant Man 2.

Many are saying they are worried about Avengers 4 and I kind of agree.

The reason being is that I think it is clear it is being used to set up the next phase of the MCU as many long standing and very expensive characters are retired. Marvel knows that A4 is the best chance they have to introduce fans to their next wave of star characters but I just hope they don't DC it.

The MCU has been successful where DC has failed because they introduced their characters over time, gave them back story and made us vested in the characters. DC, on the other hand just said 'here they all are, you should like them and root for them and against their enemies none of which you are vested in. If the MCU rushes big characters into A4 and gives them huge key roles in a similar way they may see it fall flat as happened in the DCU.

Introduce Captain Marvel, fine. We get it, she can and should be a big part of the next wave. But make her supporting cast in this movie. Powerful yes, but supporting cast.

I think (hope) the MCU will do it right and they deserve the benefit of the doubt, but i am a little worried they will value trying to jump start the Next Phase over closing out THIS phase in the proper way with the proper respect for the characters who built it.

Yes, this is how I feel. I hope to see a graceful passing of the torch...not a hostile takeover....or "Hey look...these new characters are SOOO much more powerful than your old favoritse!"

They had screen time for her in the first movie as well was that one also shit? It's funny thought because when I saw her I was like "WTF is she doing in this movie". I completely forgot she was Tony's girl. There hasn't been a solo Iron Man movie since 2013 that's pretty crazy.
Ok but that was like 10 movies ago and they've quadrupled the number of Avengers since then. This has more to do with the fact that she's a cunt and I don't understand why they need to wedge her in there since she's as you've pointed out been a non factor for the 5 years of the entire 10 year story arc of this series.

From that perspective I can sort of understand being worried. I'm not worried because well Marvel has never done this and it's just not how they do things. Which is why they have been so successful. For them to all of a sudden change the formula that has brought them so much success would a be DC level fuck up.

No I mean she had screen time in the first IW movie.

Oh yeah but it was like a minute and totally forgettable. Seeing her in armor makes me think she will have a bigger role.

If I had to guess at best it will be her accompanying a part of the team on some mission for some reason. I doubt it will be anything worth even caring about. Look at this way it increases her chances of being killed off..so there's that.

LMAO that was a great way to end a post.

She's going to get an entire film devoted to her before that of course, Doc Strange really didn't get much more than that before Infinity War, a film and a short appearance in Ragnarok.

The Russo's did actually pull off introducing Black Panther cold as well in Civil War and I don't personally think they will feel the need for any cheap political pandering. Their Marvel films have never lacked a female presence, Black Widow, Scarlet Witch and Gamora have all had major roles in their films so theres nothing to really make up for.

13 Reasons Why Star Katherine Langford Joins the Cast of AVENGERS 4

JhWsw2V.jpg

The sprawling cast of the next Avengers movie is a little bigger than previously known. 13 Reasons Why star Katherine Langford has filmed scenes for the currently untitled Avengers 4, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed. Marvel Studios had no comment.

Langford earned a Golden Globe nomination for her breakout role as Hannah Baker in Netflix's 13 Reasons Why, in which she played a high school student who left behind a series of tapes after her suicide. She appeared on the show through season two, but will not return for next year's third season.

Up next, Langford has booked a role in Netflix's Cursed, from Sin City creator Frank Miller and Tom Wheeler. The series is a new take on the legend of King Arthur and centers on Nimue, described as a "teenage heroine with a mysterious gift who is destined to become the powerful (and tragic) Lady of the Lake."

Avengers 4, which opens May 3, 2019, is directed by Avengers: Infinity War filmmakers Anthony and Joe Russo. Infinity War grossed more than $2 billion for Disney and Marvel Studios, and wrapped additional photography earlier this month.

Why would the title be Annihilation? It is gonna be Infinity War Part 2.

The issue I have w/ Captain Marvel is power creep. So you see her punch a Skrull on a train in the trailer, right? Thor punches anyone on a train, the entire train is derailed. If she all of a sudden, out of no where, is more powerful than Thor -- particularly after his power-up -- then it will be disappointing.

I can see it now, the gratuitous girl power moment when they have Captain Marvel be the one to kill Thanos.

It should be thor.

So post credits scene, or voice of a cgi character as they finished filming...

Honestly though I will be disappointed if the resolution to the Thanos story is just "more power needed" and I'm fairly certain that won't be the case.

I would see Captain Marvel helping them to track down Thanos in the first place moreso than actually playing the main role defeating him/reversing his cull.
