Normally the reverse would be true I suspect, studios wouldn't mind if a bit of extra earnings are unannounced to avoid some tax.

To be fair something funny happened, boxoffice mojo had the film like 10 million behind wich would have made it a photo finish and then in SDCC they annunced Endgame had already beat avatar on a friday (like not even after the weekend numbers).

if you look at the numbers it did 4 million in Greece out of the blue that weekeend ,

Im not saying it was rigged but the film was making peanuts in the foreign market by that time, then it makes 4 million from a small market, no one could have predicted that.

Looking at those figures it appears all of its earnings in Greece were from that weekend. So it didn’t open in Greece till July 19?

Looking on Box Office Mojo the Greek release was handled by a separate distribution company(maybe a legality in Greece that you need a local sub distributor or save tax by doing so?) not Disney themselves as in most of the world so perhaps it took this long for the figures to come though?

I do agree that what the MCU has done, bringing a story arc spread out over 11 years and 22 movies to an almost--

Maybe, the second article I linked says the found some "extra money" when adding all the money, wich could be a reference to this, teh fact it happened exactly at SDCC is what makes me think they played around with the numbers one way or another.

As I said before I dont think the numbers are rigged as in Endgame would not have beat Avatar, I think in the worst case scenario endagme has done enough money to beat Avatar again even without the SDCC bump, but maybe Disney witheld information to make the announcement at SDCC or they doctored the data to make the announcement there and not a week or 2 later.

The difference between MCU Fans and Trekkies: MCU Fans wonder what it would like to have sex with Asgardian warrior women or Russian super assassins.

Trekkies just wonder what it would be like to have sex;)

Wouldn't be supprised or perhaps just waited until then to look for it, again normally I suspect the reverse might be true and studios are keen to hide extra taking were they can to avoid tax or paying percentages to someone else, New Line(not Jackson) did with the Tolkien family and LOTR which was a lot of the reason for the delay with the Hobbit.

What's amazing? They could have done it better. Much better.

I'll say this------ if Stan Lee would have survived to play the part of old Steve Rogers, it would have gone from a B to an A- immediately.

Writers of Avengers endgame where at ComicCon and said some crazy stuff mostly about professor Hulk and that when he was originally slated to put the gauntlet on he was originally not to lose use of his arm but the directors changed the course because they decided it was going to create problems with the story ark. He was going to become the red hulk "Instead of the general Ross" or potentially world breaker hulk or some form of even bigger problem and create even more problems for the Avengers. Mostly it seemed like the red hulk was thrown around a lot more then people really could have imaged. It was the directors who put the end to that idea as they where decided what would make it into the film. They at that time knew what it did to Thanos and they figured something similar had to have happened to the hulk. The directors even said they prefer if he never gets to use his arm again or do a bucky to him and create an artificial limb.
