I saw endgame today with my wife. It was incredible. The best Marvel movie so far. I got totally lost in the movie but it was a tearjerker for me. High quality movie in every respect.

I love both Marvel and DC and am completely aware of the catastrophe that is the DC cinematic universe as it was. Believe me I have been let down.

That being said it's hardly controversial to make the statement I did previously so I'm not sure why your so triggered over it. DC is known for its depth and pointing it out doesn't mean I'm peddling DC bullshit.

MCU Bucky is a criminal who killed Tony Stark's parents (the person who made the shield). It flies against logic to hand that over to MCU Bucky. He's still a wanted criminal in the MCU world so he'd have a tough time representing that shield. Bucky using the name Captain America in the MCU world doesn't quite work (as in doesn't work AT ALL!)...

Interisting fact is IW and Avatar almost did it at the same time but Avatar still did 700M more.

I think the race is not decided yet, looks to me like the foreign market usually dies faster with most money ww coming in the frst 2 weeks. 3 max, if ww doesnt hold with big numbers next 2 weeks i dont think domestic will be enough to tie Avatar or could be a photo finish.

Really I would say that shows you the difference as well, I think both Titanic and Avatar got their success by having the broadest possible appeal, relatively simple plots that needed no prior knowledge and an eye catching technical shift. That resulted in their takings being spread over a much longer period and people who don't normally go to the cinema that often or at least don't normally rush out to see such films took awhile to pickup on it.

These Marvel films on the other hand are I'd say much more focused on a fanbase, granted its now a very large fanbase indeed on a similar kind of level to Starwars but still a higher percentage of people with some commitment to the franchise. That obviously makes its potential taking more front loaded although actually the second weekend in the US seems pretty good to me when you consider the first Fridays numbers were massively inflated by late night Thrusday/Friday morning showings.
