Same. Disagreement is always fine but he's all over the place and drifting into.... hate speech I guess?

Annoying when someone starts out with a clear agenda and won't admit it. I don't see a threat to the white male here. What with cap, stark, pete, other pete, thor, hulk, etc.

AND the movies are very diverse. I mean falcon, WM, panther, mantis, Gamora etc. I can't understand anyone being upset from that angle. Imo the representation is quite good across the board. And I like that. Every demographic needs heroes.

I gather people are suggesting I have a problem with all superheroes not being white. Not even close. I'm all for black people being used more in all aspects of film. What I have an issue with is the agenda of people who insist things like, we need a black James Bond. I think it creates more of an issue by wanting to change things for the sake of having someone of that race in certain parts.
Great, have a secret agent (or super hero) who is black, Chinese, Maori, whatever. But why the insistence to change already established characters to something they never were? One of my best mates is Chinese. Another is Fijian. My sister in law is Japanese. One of my close friends is married to a Nigerian woman. So no, I don't have an issue with race.

That's it. Most people are fine with or even want more black actors and females. We just dont want them to displace white characters that we love.

Replace the shitty ones lol.

More ranting nonsense. Guess we're done here anyway, I've been running circles around you absolutely schooling you and exposing your lack of knowledge. You just want to be mad at the gays and those damn minorities, facts be damned.

Enjoy your persecution complex I guess.
You should check out the Is Game of Thrones Feminist Propaganda? thread <Lmaoo>

Absolutely, I mean if someone wants a black James bond, why not start a new spin off and call him (or her or the other ) and call them 008, or 009 or whatever. Why the need to piggy back off already firmly established characters? Where would it stop?

I have a real genuine hatred of people who are actively racist. To discriminate or hate on someone because of their skin colour is just disgusting. But I also have a similar hatred for those with the agenda of making race a bigger issue than it is. In the same way I disagree with job application forms asking what race you are so they can be equal to all. Because often, that will mean white people (or whoever) need not apply because we've already decided we need a person of a different colour. That in itself is the very thing it says it's trying to prevent.

Going back to falcon, if marvel had decided ages ago that cap would hand him the shield, then for fuck sakes why oh why did they not develop his character more? Why didn't he have more than just the odd pop up role? He'd fly in, kick someone, fly off etc etc. Nothing else to him in any of the mcu films he's been in. Yet that deserves the shield in the mcu now?
I await the next comic nerd ranting on about how such and such happened in episode whatever of blah blah series of marvels comic. But to insist people need to go read all the comics before criticising the movies, is just retarded. This is the movie we are taking about.

You do have a bit of a problem though were almost all blockbusters these days are based on existing properties so if your moving towards more diversity then some changes are going to be needed. To be fair superhero comics are actually rather better represented diversity wise than a lot of other properties are.

I think the real divide though is between people are mostly interested in politics and those who are interested in the quality of cinema. The former will love/hate something that represents diversity regardless of quality, the latter will generally react to it based on whether it was actually anygood or not.

Honestly I think a big problem we have recently is that on the political side there an obcession with tokenism and "empowerment". Basically the view becomes that having a character who pushes diversity is what matters and that the best way to do that is for this character to be as powerful and morally correct as possible. Really though this is generally an anathema to actually producing quality cinema, one of the most basic elements of such fiction is the idea of a flawed protagonist gradually developing, this is what gives characters and stories weight and the likes of Rey of Captain Marvel simply don't have it.

Real diversity/representation is about having female, black, asia, etc characters of the same quality as white male ones.

Interisting fact is IW and Avatar almost did it at the same time but Avatar still did 700M more.

I think the race is not decided yet, looks to me like the foreign market usually dies faster with most money ww coming in the frst 2 weeks. 3 max, if ww doesnt hold with big numbers next 2 weeks i dont think domestic will be enough to tie Avatar or could be a photo finish.
I’m a sci fi nerd, but I don’t even like Avatar very much. Its success still shocks me.

Hahaha I was debating on going to the museum because of how bad the first viewing got us, but she said "Well, the museum is always going to be there. The movie is only temporary." I nearly wifed her right there.
She may not be the woman we deserve...
But sometimes we get the woman we needed...

I trust Mackie and Seb to make this great.
They were some of my favorite parts of Civil War. Seeing them interact was always great.

Also, knowing that they're buddies IRL, it gives me hope that the same natural chemistry they have will continue in their series.

In all seriousness though, Avatar sucked a big ol donkey dong and I look forward to Thanos snapping it to hell.

I call y'all SPACEY-ASS WOLVES POKING EACH OTHER'S HAUNCHES.

Marvel Studios Schedule:

May 1, 2020 – Untitled Marvel
November 6, 2020 – Untitled Marvel
February 12, 2021– Untitled Marvel
May 7, 2021- Untitled Marvel
November 5, 2021 - Untitled Marvel
February 18, 2022 – Untitled Marvel
May 6, 2022 – Untitled Marvel
July 29, 2022 – Untitled Marvel

There’s no official information about what these untitled films will be, but the Marvel films we know are in the stages of production include: Black Widow, The Eternals, Shang-Chi, Black Panther 2, Doctor Strange 2, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Both Bob Iger and Kevin Feige has gone on record saying the Fox Marvel properties will be overseen by Marvel Studios at some point in the future, so some of these dates may include a new Deadpool film or X-Men reboot, although I heavily doubt the latter.

Yeah there was no hint they were ever going in the direction of making bucky the new cap. They've been building up the cap and falcon relationship since TWS. I'd rather see a winter soldier franchise anyway, he's a great character in his own right. And the actor fits that role much better than the cap role imo.

Bucky is way too much of an uncharismatic introvert to be captain America. Derp.

Plus, The Winter Soldier is a bad ass name.
