Movies AVATAR: FIRE AND ASH (Dragonlord's Reaction, post #68)

I saw it in 3D. It is by far way ahead of anything else that is CGI. I think the only other time I was blown away was with Puss and Boots 2 but that was more about art style than semi-realistic rendering. It is so far ahead of anything else anyone else is doing, probably because it is packed full of Avatar money to do research. The plot was very blah but it is top notch on a lot of things, 3D and especially water modeling. In some ways it feels like something that should be a tech demo rather than a movie as Avatar is kind of a boring series in my opinion. I don't know why James Cameron doesn't turn his studio instead into something like Pixar and pump out tons of different kind of movies for 3rd parties rather than just doing Avatar over and over. He is probably 10 years ahead of most studios on a lot of things.

Just saw it yesterday. Great visuals as expected, but the plot is pretty much the exact replica of #2. Very lazy script writing.
